AND IT'S GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My stellar rockstar of a husband heard back today re: the job that he interviewed about a month ago, and they called him today..................

HE GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you baby, congratulations x infinite + 1!

It's back!

The weekend is soon to be upon us ladies and gents and it's shaping out to be a gorgeous one:

And did you check out the weather for the following week? No more of this "Gorgeous weekend, this crappy weather" trend Sacramento has been having (knock on wood).

Workouts have been going well and eating has been pretty good too. I went into the gym after work on Wednesday, full prepared to do my 30 minute Xbike class, when what do I hear over the loud speaker? "Level 2 (45 minutes!!!) XBike class will be starting in 5 minutes". Ummmmmmm, yeaaaah, about that....so NOT happening. I mean, I know I could do 45 minutes, but I don't WANT to do 45 minutes. 30 minutes is plenty for this girl, thanks very much. I was determined to workout Wednesday, so I wasn't about to leave. The thing was though, I didn't have my headphones to listen to music while I did cardio. If your like me, cardio without music is like macaroni without cheese - you just know, something is missing and you won't be feelin it. BUT, like I said, I was determined. So I set that speed to a steady warm up pace of 5.7 mph until I was loosened up, and it was to 6.0. Thank GOD Judge Judy was on, or else those 3 miles would have draaaagged. I was so proud when I got off Tread. There were so many times I wanted to stop, just outta boredom and the fact I was over listing to mine and everyone elses' feet hit that rubber track. Oh and it didn't stop there - I took full advantage of my gym time by taking myself over to the weights and pumped out a full leg/lower back session - BOO YA!

Yesterday Nick and I went for a SHORT SHORT run/ride. I'd say it was 1 mile, maybe 1.5 miles, but it was still really nice to get out in the gorgeous weather and be active.

Today I'm resting, but still went on my walk with the ladies from work on our lunch. It's seriously GORGEOUS outside - 77 and breezy with pure sunshine. There is something to be said for getting that blood pumping on that 1 hour break. I come back to my desk with way more energy and drive to actually DO my work :)

Have a GREAT rest of your Friday lovelies :)

Blind Side(ed)

All I can say is, she kept that a secret better than anything and thank GOD she has filed for divorce from Jesse "I swear I'm not a Nazi" James!

TGIW

No kidding, I am thrilled it's Wednesday! It marks the middle of the week, and it means we are super close to Friday. It also means it's XBIKE class today after work, WOO HOO! I am really looking forward to a good sweat session since I haven't broken a real sweat since...FRIDAY!! I have gone to the gym 1 time since Friday, EEEK! Nick and I didn't do our run/ride this weekend, so I've been craving some sweat, haha!

So workouts for this week will/have looked like this:

Sunday: Nada
Monday: Nada
Tuesday: Upper body weights for 30 minutes
Wednesday: XBIKE - 30 minutes
Thursday: 30 minutes running (roughly 3 miles) and abs/back workouts
Friday: still unsure if I'm going Friday - if I do, it'll be straight running
Saturday: Shred in the AM, followed by some cardio at the gym :)

So I'm half way through the Biggest Loser from last night (thank God for DVR's), and it's so dang motivating. I feel like a major slacker sometimes after watching those people go through those intense workouts. I mean, they are SWEATIN!Dripping every calorie on the gym floor! Oh and what about all those people they were running that 5K with in Texas? Some of their stories were so real, and when they crossed the finish line crying, I couldn't help but shed a tear for them. I was just so happy, cause it reminded me a lot of me when I was in HS. I mean, I wasn't nearly as big as them, but I remember FEELING that big and self concious, which in turn led me down the wrong path with the guys I chose. So bottom line: if you wanna get motivated to drop those oreos- WATCH SOME BIGGEST LOSER.

KARLI'S TIP OF THE DAY: When your on the treadmill/elliptical/stationary bike/on the trails, and you feel like you want to quit, just imagine those BL contestants and what THEY can accomplish. I personally like to think of Jillian or Bob encouraging me and telling me how far I've already come and not to stop :)

Have a beautiful day people!!

200th post & weekend updates

Good afternoon fellow readers - I have exactly 2 hours and 17 minutes left of work as I write this, woo hoo! Later today Nick and I are going on our run/ride since we didn't go yesterday. We had a previous engagement with Bestie Bon Bon and her hubby.

You ever have a weekend that goes by sooooo slow, you come into work on Monday morning with a refreshed outlook on things? I have NO clue what got into me this weekend, but it was just so nice and I can honestly say, it went by at the PERFECT pace. And I really couldn't beat the weather I got. Sunny, not a cloud in the sky either days. Saturday with a day of 78 and Sunday was a gorgeous sunny day oh 85 (at least that's what my car was telling me) As you could see from my previous post, I layed out for 2 hours yesterday (yes, this girl got a little red on top of the shoulders).

Can't wait for NEXT weekend :)

Getting to know you

Happy Saturday all you lovely weekenders! I am currently in my comfy memory foam bed all cozy with a cup of coffee catching up on everyones blogs. Since you all know what I'm doing this weekend due to my previous blog, I thought I'd take the time to answer a few questions and be completely honest (Take note Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, Jesse James, and all you other cheating boys)

I took this from Jersey Blonde

1 - Why did you start blogging?
Cause my family was 3,000 miles away at the time and I thought it'd be a great way to stay in touch and they could read about my exciting and thrilling life (*laying on the sarcasm).

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
Hmmm...that's a toughy, I'd love to meet them all! I don't like to play favorites :)

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
Because it's not all about other people..sometimes (okay, a lot of the time), it's about ME and how I feel in my own skin :) I'm actually confident in how I look right now, but I am really trying to tone up as much as possible before bikini weather comes. The thought of walking around half naked will make any woman want to pass on that cheesy pizza (mmmmmmmmmmmmm)

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
Shopping is something females like to do just like guys like to watch football, baseball, golf, hockey, etc. It's the best destresser. Stop commenting on the shopping and just let me be :) <----------store some of this answer from Jersey Blonde, just because she was dead on! :) 5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes? Well none of mine are visible in my everyday clothes, unless it's summer and you can usually see at least 1 of them. I have 2 tattoo's 1 on my lower back, it's a largish girly fairy. I say girly cause some women get those goth looking fairies. Not me, she has blonde hair with brownish streaks (like I had during the time of my tattoo), and she's in a pink bikini type of outfit with sparkles around her. And it's NOT a tramp stamp, you gotta be a tramp to get it, and I'm a lady thanks very much. My other one is of a pink and purple shooting star on top of my left foot. I already have my next tattoo planned. This picture is exactly where and what I want: Alis volat propriis. It's Latin for "She Flies With Her Own Wings"

6 - What was the best year of your life and why?
Oh man..hmmm..I'd have to say 2004. I graduated HS, and that's when Nick and I started talking. I had horrible habit of falling for the wrong guys, and I was tangled up in some drama with a bad crowd, so he sort of rescued me from it all. He was good for me from day #1. It's so rare to find a guy who won't break your heart. The fact he was a Marine was just icing on the cake baby...if you've never seen a Marine in cammies...your missing out :) It was December 2004, that Nick got stationed back into the states (San Diego), and we started our lives as a married couple shortly after

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
haha, I'd wake up, take my 5 minute shower (no need to shave my legs, arm pits, etc), look in the closet and grab a clean shirt and pants in 2 minutes, and be out the door.

8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
haha, I think my alcoholic drink of choice is very popular amongst people my age. When Nick and I have gone out to clubs with friends, I get my Sugar free red bull and vodka, but if I'm just kicking back, a skinny girl margarita please :)

& the countdown begins...

So it's Friday and the infamous countdown begins until we can all peel outta our work parking lots :) My work days start at 7AM, so I only have 5 more working hours left, mua ha ha!

I ain't got much to say other than HAPPY FRIDAY, and since it's more appealing to the eye to see pictures, I am looking forward to a lot of this on my weekend:

Happy Earth Day

Buenos Dias mi amors! I hope you all go out and hug or plant a tree, cause today is Earth Day! I plan on celebrating it by MAKING the green, instead of planting it.

So yesterday was a dud with workouts - I didn't go to the gym OR do Xbike OR do the Shred. But I'm okay with this, because my hip/leg area and sometimes my right knee have been giving me grief ever since my 10K on the 11th. I ran 3.3 miles on Tuesday at the gym, and it was a good thing I stopped cause it was really starting to hurt. Tonight, when I get home, I plan on doing a bunch of ab work. Ab work is something I find is easy to do anywhere can every little bit helps. All you need is the floor or a balance ball...and I have both, so I'm good to go :)

While I would love to frequent the gym, tonight starts the NFL Draft and certain people in MY household (hint: it's not Daisy), are SO looking forward to it and they need my support in watching regular football boys, become part of legendary teams :) Last night, we picked up a pizza at papa murphy's: half bacon and sausage for Nick, half spinach, tomato and artichoke hearts, with light on the cheese for me.

Does anyone else feel like this week went by fast? I mean, work this week has been a whirlwind, with a bunch of the engineers and bosses flying out of town, flights getting messed up, etc., but it's already Thursday! I'm not complaining one bit that the weekend is almost here, but time sure does fly. I mean, I'm already completing my 4th week here are the new job!

Since some of you have emailed me regarding Nick's possible new job position: we have NOT heard anything yet, but are anticipating we hear something by next week. They like to take their time, which is fine, cause my hubby is a rockstar, and I know they see that :)

"C'mon Bambi, you can do it!"

Happy Hump day!! Thank the good Lord above, because I am READY for this weekend. After seeing what this weekend is looking like weather wise....WHEW! I'm ready for it to get here. It can rain all it wants during the week (my flowers will love it!), but bring the sunshine on for the weekend. I have lost probably 10-15lbs. since last summer, and it has seriously made a difference on how I look at the hottest season. I am actually for the 1st time going to attempt shorts! Short jean cutoffs are in season this year, and I am actually confident in my legs that I can rock em'. Once Nick gets this new job (he will, I'm confident!), I'm going on a little shopping trip to get some new clothes. I will be putting some SERIOUS money into those Forever 21 cash registers....maybe Victoria's Secret too.....and maybe Arden B....possibly H&M...possibly Marshalls.....

*Le Sigh...*

Last night Nicky boy and I went to the gym and he didn't wanna go.at.ALL. I can totally understand cause to be honest, when I get home from work, I just want to lay on the bed and not move. BUT, things must get done, such as getting bodies ready to be scantily clad in bikini's (shorts for him, duh!), for Mexico AND the Summer. Cause there are ALWAYS those BBQ's at friends houses or family get togethers, where there is a pool involved. And this Summer, I plan on soaking up some sun in : Tahoe, The Diego (aka San Diego), and I'd love to go to Santa Cruz. This girl has high hopes :) So anywhooo, Nick really didn't want to go, but guess what? After working that boy out, he was a new man! *insert harps and angels here* He even said he thinks he coulda worked out harder than he did. I can see a change in my man :) I was so proud of him! And remember how I told you all that I found that XBIKE class for Wednesdays (TODAY!!)? WElllll since the beloved NFL Draft starts tomorrow, Nick wants to go to the gym tonight, so I think this Wednesday, it'll be a workout (lower body + 3 miler run). WOO HOO!

Talk to you later lovely readers. I hope your Hump day starts off GREAT! (maybe with a hump, hahaha!)

Yes please!

Could not be more excited for the GORGEOUS weekend ahead - I plan on doin some Spring cleaning of the casa with the windows open and run/ride with Nick :)

Photobucket

Where did the sunshine go?

What the heck Sacramento? We are being hit with a crazy Spring storm. I LOVE me some rain and dark stormy days, but after the taste of Spring this weekend, I could do without the rain until Fall (my FAVORITE season) hits. So no lunch time walk for me and the girls at work, boo! So chances are, this day is gonna feel like it drags since I won't be going outside until I leave at 4pm.

Nick and I have a gym date today and it's an upper body with a 3 mile run sorta day. Yesterday, I didn't go to Xbike (BOO ME!), buuuuut I DID Shred with Jill. Im doing really good and Im already seriously noticing a difference in my upper body. Especially shoulder cap area. It's all those push ups I swear. But today, it's upper body and abs/back. So it's gonna be a busy one today at the gym (aka, the other office)and one that I hope to walk away from, unable to lift my arms up. So back to me not going to XBIKE: as much as I enjoy the calorie burn and the detoxing workout, I just don't think I'm gonna make the 6:30 class. I would get home around 7:15ish, and that's hardly enough time to eat and spend time with my honey. HOWEVER, while I am writing this, I looked up my gym's website to see their classes and they have ADDED a level 1 Xbike class (level 2 is 45 minutes instead of 30, and that is just WAY too much sweating for me haha) on Wednesdays! This is PERFECT- I didn't want to disrupt mine and Nick's gym time together on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, so Wednesday will be perfect and it's at 4:45, which gives me plenty of time to get there after work and warm up on the treadmill for 10 minutes or so! This is better news than Oprah FINALLY commenting on all these allegations in the tell all book!

So this week's workout schedule will look like this:

Monday: Shred
Tuesday: Upper body/abs/lower back + 3 mile run
Wednesday: Roughly 10 minute warm up on treadmill + 30 minute XBIKE
Thursday: Lower body/abs + 3 mile run
Friday: Shred
Saturday: Shred + and/or upper body at gym
Sunday: Run/ride with Nick

I'm sure there will be some Wednesday's where I don't want to go to the gym after work, and those will be my rest days.

Onto more fabulous and pretty things, tell me these aren't GORGEOUS! On my wish list for sure (just throwin it out there Nicky boy)- Their from Disney Couture:

Monday is NOT a fun day

Oh Monday...how I wish your name was Friday. So this weekend was very lovely. The weather, couldn't have been more perfect. Saturday was a sunny 77 degrees with clear skies and Sunday was an even better 82 degrees with clear skies.

Perfect conditions for a nice long outside run, but since I'm a scardy cat that a crazy murderer will jump outta bushes and kill me, I chose to Shred instead.

Saturday I went to the pottery class I told you all about on Friday with my mom, sister, and niecey poo. My sister was recovering from her knee surgery she had on Friday, and I guarantee her bowl she made, is going to be worth money. The girl is an artist. My mom also chose a bowl to paint and it's nothing short of cute. Being that she feels her heart and soul are in Mexico (on the beach, drinking margaritas), she opted for a beach theme with her painting. The Bunny Boo did a GREAT job with her bowl she picked out, doing a lemon theme, and it's going to be SO cute! To express my creativity, I chose a giant "can hold a hold pot of coffee + creamer" coffee cup to paint. I will keep it a secret as to what I painted on my cup, until it arrives :)

So I went to Home Depot on Sunday, and all of my fans, I mean fellow Sacromentians (what DO you call people from Sacramento?), were there as well. It.was.PACKED! Especially where I was: the garden department. Kids riding on flat bed carts throwing tantrums (and fertilizer), men making smart remarks on how their wives can't pick a line to check out in, and me. It was GREAT! I took the flowers and my soil, and flower boxes to my parents house and planted my heart out! I have never had a "Green Thumb", so we shall see. I'm not promising Emerald City, people, but we shall see.

I'll be sure to upload some pics once the seeds I planted start sprouting. Oh and I decided to go to with a more neutral chair cushion for our 2 chairs. It's like a golden tan, but the one I originally wanted, was too orange, and I didn't think Nick would like them. Here a a few of the flowers I got:

Not bad, eh? I promise to take some pics of the improved patio (still improving), when the white little carpet flowers start to bloom. So in about, 3 weeks, I'll post some pics :) Hope you all had a lovely weekend & you got some sunshine :)

Drum roll please

So this weekend I've done pretty good workout wise and eating wise. I also took away a tip from one of Jillian's "trainer tips" on The Biggest Loser. I'm not sure if it was this week's episode or last week, BUUUUT, she said with eating, to do this: buckle down really hard on eating for 3 days a week, then loosen up for 2 days, then for 1 day be moderate, and the last day, treat yourself (this does NOT mean a junk DAY...a junk MEAL okay). So, I'm going to stick to that philosophy for a bit. Also, my X Bike class routine for Monday's start this week. Last week, I didn't only because I was still crazy sore from the 10K on Sunday. So eating, it'll be mainly focused on protein. Oh and I bought these goodies from Target. I LOVE Luna bars and these one have protein, so I'm thinking this is a MUCH better option for dessert. It ll be this or a protein shake for dessert ladies and gents.

I got the Cookie Dough and they are DELICIOUS!! They are 180 calories, but with 12 grams of protein. That's what I'm talkin about Willis! *NOTE: CLIF BAR & COMPANY, DID NOT SEND ME PRODUCTS TO REVIEW, THIS WAS BASED ON MY OWN CURIOSITY ON HOW THEY TASTE*

This weekend, I've been really good to, spending my mornings with this little gem

with the hopes of looking like this

You gotta admit, Jillian knows how to push you, and look at HER! I trust the girl to make me presentable in this come summer. Yes, I switched bikini's, and this is the one I am getting:

Same color and all....pink is my signature color

Also, Nick and I are most likely going to Mexico with my parents to their condo in November, and I plan in being in it 90% of the time.

Giveaways are fun!

I hope your weekends are going fabulous so far! I've had a very lovely one, and I'm hoping tonight Nick and I head on over to Home Depot, cause it's the one thing I really wanna do this weekend. *note: that sounded so wifely of me..who knows any 23 year olds that are dying to get to Home Depot on their weekend?* Oh and PS, I noticed we have a pack of hummingbirds that like to come on our porch! It made me so excited, so I'm adding a humming bird feeder to the "to get" list.

Juliana over at "A blonde walks into a blog", is giving away Arbonne products. She has reviewed a few and I think it's a great giveaway. Like I've mentioned in another one of my posts, I have had great luck with the sunless tanner. I HIGHLY recommend you enter this giveaway. Their products are 110% natural, which is great if your very particular on what you use on your body, or if your like me, and wishing to get pregnant.

Check it out by going to her blog here

Baby, needs an upgrade

Am ready for an upgrade on the dumbbells for my Shred days. I need a 10lb weight for my chest flies and bicep curls.

And well hello gorgeous.......

It's finally Friday- WOO HOO!

Ah yes, there is nothing better than the clock hitting 4pm, and knowing you don't have to come back to work for 2 days, plus the time on Friday evening. I got a relaxing weekend consisting of: a pottery class with my mom, sister, niecey poo, gma, and aunt, grocery shopping (o, joy), Shred with Jill, gym and run/ride with Nicky poo. It's supposed to be a gorgeous weekend too! Sunny and in the mid to upper 70's.

Since it's going to be a gorgeous weekend, I couldn't be happier that N-dawg, has one of the 2 days off. I have been itching to get our happy married butts over to Home Depot. Nick's mom sent him a gift card and I am eyeing a few things for our patio:

I want these x 2. And I'm thinking gorgeous flowers in them both. For some reason, these hanging planters, have always reminded of Sesame Street, haha! Maybe it's cause it's something you'd see on my favorite show (when I was 3...or 23).

I think these would spruce up the patio and add some color, cause at the moment, our chairs are a brown stitching sorta deal, with black iron legs and arms.

Not necessarily this Home Depot trip, but I want to get a larger pot for the patio and I want to fill it with a bunch of herbs. Maybe something like this

I am also wanting to head over to Target to get fun accessories not green thumb related and get some hanging lights so when Nick and I sit out there with our margaritas in the summer, we can see each other (and our drinks). Something like this:

This week ends the mark of my 3rd week at my new job. Not only that, but today (thank you direct deposit), I got my 1st paycheck. Me likey :)
