9 weeks

So today I am officially 9 weeks pregnant, woo hooo!!! This pregnancy is moving fast- I'll be in my 2nd trimester in 4 weeks! Just crazy stuff there people. I was going to upload some pics for you all to see of my belly (looks like I just got a gut so far), and of course the positive pregnancy test, but I ran outta time this morning before I left for work, so I'll do it tonight - PROMISE!! Is it weird that I'm keeping it for the little baby box I'm making? I put it in a plastic baggy and it's not like it's drenched in urine hehe. I just thought it'd be cool to keep it.

According to babycenter.com,
"Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain."

The tail is gone, woo hoo!!! I think that's one of the most exciting things :) My 1st appointment is June 30th and I can't wait! I've heard they do an internal ultrasound - any momma's out there wanna give me their experiences and what to expect. The receptionist I spoke to told me the doctor will do a total head to toe exam since I'm a new patient and go over any medical history and then we'll do the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat, EEEK!!!! SOOO excited!! By then I'll be just about 12 weeks along. The nurse also said that at that time my baby will be super active (of course I can't feel my little bean yet), and it'll be fun to see. Just warning you all - I am going to bawl like a baby when I see my baby hehe.

I went to the gym Wednesday and not yesterday so I'm feeling like a slacker. But in my defense, I didn't feel good when I got home yesterday and the blah feeling lasted all night. So I'm hoping tonight Nick and I will go on a long walk before we head out to our dinner date. I am determined to keep active throughout this whole pregnant, walks or gym time, it'll make labor and delivery sooo much easier. Not to mention getting back into shape :) I am looking forward to my 2nd trimester which I've heard from all momma's is the best trimester outta the 3. 4 more weeks baby!
