Well its a...

So I know you are all dying to hear about what we're having. Is it a baby Olivia? or is it a baby Troy? hmmmm..... Before I reveal, lemme tell you about my appointment leading up to the big finale.

I was super paranoid about not drinking enough water. I heard from friends that if you don't drink enough water, they will send you home and you'd have to reschedule. Well, I was determined that wasn't happening to me. I had 'announcement' dinner plans, Nick and I were planning on going to Home Depot to look at paint samples, etc. There was just too many plans AFTER we found out, that I was not leaving that office without a boy or girl answer. The instructions they gave me before hand said to drink 16oz of water 1.5 hours before the appointment. So at 2pm, I emptied my bladder and started to refill it. I drink like a fish, so I thought it'd be no biggy if I just drank 32oz instead. Well...it was a biggy. I had to pee so bad by the time my appointment came around that once they called my name, I think I pee'd just a tad out of excitement. The ultrasound technician was super nice and when I mentioned how bad I had to pee, she said I could let it all out if I wanted and that she only needed a little bit in my bladder. Ummmmmm, do you KNOW how much water I drank so YOU people would have enough liquid in my bladder, and now you tell me "oh yeah, it's not a big deal, go empty it". It was as if they were playing a mean trick on me. So after I emptied my bladder I bit, it was to the room I went to meet the tech and Nick.

She squirted the goo on my belly (which is actually really warm and not cold like I thought), and away we went. She pointed out a few things: the brain, the spine, and the heart. The heart was SO amazing. How fast it was beating. We saw all 4 chambers, WOO HOO!! The spine looked really good, she measured the head, and the belly, and said everything looked normal. We got to see our baby for 30 minutes before she revealed to us what our baby bean was: boy or girl. I was PRETTY sure I saw the money shot earlier in the ultrasound, but I didn't wanna sound like a crazy terets patient and shout it out over and over. Well, I should have, because I would have been right... Without further ado, I would like to present........

I have a son!! When she freezed the camera on his parts, I knew it was a boy. Tears (of joy) immediately filled my eyes and I still get choked up when I think about it. I am going to have a little man! I hope to raise him to love and respect his mom and dad (and rest of his family), be a Denver Broncos fan (haha!), not be afraid to go for what he wants, be a gentleman to the ladies, and love God. As for Nick? I know he would love for him to a football nut just like him. Nick is so happy, but he says he already knew it was a boy, so it wasn't as big of a shock for him. He was wondering if maybe the fact that the entire pregnancy, he refered to the baby as 'he' and if that had any help in determining the sex. Who knows, but we have a son and I am on cloud nine!

It's so much more real now! My parents of course were thrilled! They already have 1 grandchild, my niecey poo, and now they will have a grandson.

How exciting!!! Congratulations! Welcome to the Little Man club. :) And my tech let me pee before hand too. I wasn't super stressed about filling up my bladder, but by the time I got there with the nerves and everything I for sure thought I was going to pee on the table. :)
