Made it to 38 weeks

I'm taking this survey off of Laura's page just to switch up the questions. Her and I are actually due on the same day some of our answers are going to be the same :)

Today's date: December 31, 2010

How far along: 38 weeks...two more to go and my guess is I will be making it to his due date.

Total weight gain: I have quit asking the doctor when I go in because I think if I know, I'll fixate on it. I'll let you all know at the end of the pregnancy how much I gained.

Size and growth of the baby: The size of a watermelon, 19-21 inches, 6-8 pounds. The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as his abdomen, and his head could be covered in an inch or so of hair. He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time. His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

What's happening to mama this week: Don't panic if you feel electric buzzes down your legs and inside your vagina. Baby has simply stumbled on yet another way to grab your attention - this time, he's bumping against nerves in your pelvis. The next couple of weeks are a waiting game. Use this time to prepare for baby. Take naps, catch up on reading, spend time with your partner. Some swelling in your feet and ankles is normal during these last weeks, but call your practitioner if you notice excessive or sudden swelling.

Sex: A little monster man

Maternity clothes: EVERYTHING. Even a couple of my maternity pants are getting snug, thank God I'm not longer working. It's all yoga pants and leggings from here on out ladies! Tops consist of some strecthy normal tanks and tops and maternity tops.

Sleep: I flip sides about every hour or so. Then every hour after that I am up pee'ing. So I get about 5 hours of solid sleep a night :) Another woo hoo that I'm on maternity leave - I can fit in those naps

Best moment(s) of the week: Christmas was fabulous!! I can't wait to bust out my new jogging stroller and my new sexy wardrobe I got

Movement: Lots of rolling and jabs. According to a baby website, he is at the weight he will be when he's born, but since I've been measuring a little behind, I think he has a smidge more growing to do.

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing new and I don't really have as many "Gotta have it NOW!" cravings like I used to. When I eat, I can't eat that much because I don't have a lot of room

Morning sickness: From weeks 7-14 of my pregnancy, it was nausea all day long. But lately I've had 2-3 couple minute nausea waves. I'm chalking it up to all my hormones zooming around getting my body ready for the big "D Day"

Symptoms:Constant pee'ing, sleepiness, lower back/sciatic nerve pain, I feel like my face is bloating, Braxton hicks, the works.

Labor signs: Not really anything except the fact I'm slowly but surely losing my mucus plug daily. That and the Braxton Hicks and I think I've had 1 maybe 2 real contractions.

Belly button in or out: Depends what position he's in. At the moment it's barely in at all

What I miss: Running! My sexy clothes. I just organized my closet today and I handled all my fun clothes. Can't wait to have my body back.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the surprise that I'm in labor haha. He could come any day at any minute, EEEK!
