It Makes Me Wanna Take a Back Road

So I'm nuts when it comes to running. It's not a secret ladies. I actually PAY MONEY to run x amount of miles just for a t shirt and bragging rights. Crazy, right?

Weeeeell, something just happened to pop into my inbox this morning

You read that right - the FAMOUS Shamrock HALF MARATHON - As in 13.1 miles. It's in March, Im not worried, it gives me time to train and it FORCES me to run. So I can't freak out too much, I will commit to training properly

Part of my "training" (or my "get Troy out of the house") plan, is jogging the hills around my house. Lay-dees, I am talking STEEP hills. This is just an example of the incline on one of the 3 (THREE!!!) hills I die up

And I'm also pushing a stroller (no idea how much it weighs) and a 22lb child up them

The incline is great for a nice tight deriere and tight buttocks and quads. Wanna come with? Promise, misery loves company!

Today I took some pics from my jog that I thought I'd share

"Ready dude?"

I had some cheerleaders

...and I had some onlookers waiting for me to drop dead

Thought it would make a cool pic for Instagram

All flat roads from here on out. Welcome to country running ladies!

Of Course!

I miss my longer hair, WAAAAH! I like having something different, but seriously, I miss the length. I was just browsing my current LEGAL addiction, Pinterest, and what do I come across? How to curl your hair with a sock! A SOCK! Sounds crazy, right? Check out the how to video

I have looked at a bunch of other videos and pictures, and this shizz is legit. I have envied women's hair who can have those beautiful curls, since I can't remember. I have never been a hair curler master. Ive maybe curled my hair successfully and had the curls stay all day maybe 4 times in my whole life! No joke. I said on one of my last posts, that I have figured out how to curl my hair with the straightener, so I plan on really perfecting that since I feel like I have some sort of grasp on it.

My hair needs to grow out ASAP, check out these curls from a sock! Anyone ever try this?

Keeping it Real

Wanna know how I plan on staying on track this weekend? Like with my workouts AND food....
My DVR was kind enough to record Making the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader series, alone with my other classy reality shows.

These women are crazy fit, and watching them shake the pom poms makes me think twice about that midnight snack. Does anyone else do that? I honestly will record shows that I know have girls bodies that I envy to keep myself in check. Or if its a weight loss show, it motivates me. Most of my longtime followers know how much I LOVED The Biggest Loser. By far, the most motivating weight loss/get healthy show out there. I haven't watched it since Jillian left.

And honestly, last season, I was sorta over it. Maybe because it seemed like they were having season after season and I was just burned out. I have heard that Anna Kournikova as a trainer is sorta a joke. Super nice? Yeaaaaaaa, I need some mean tough in your face until until you black out Jillian Michaels. Sometimes when Im running, I seriously imagine Jillian Michaels running at me screaming that she will break my arms if I stop. Sounds harsh? This woman has said much worse to me in my fantasy land. I would not be able to deal with these coaches tho.
These women seriously do not hold anything back. Basically, if you have any amount of bloat, your fat.

Do you have any workout goals this weekend? Anything you use to keep you in check? My goals this weekend: run 3 miles & don't go too crazy with eating. "The Body & The Baby 2012" has commenced.

Tired has a face...

and this is what it looks like...(BTW, totally figured out how to curl my hair with my flat iron, SCORE!)

My fellow readers, I am le' tired. Yesterday I got supa' crazy with the workouts - a 3.27 mile run on Tread, a 1.32 mile run/jog with Troy on crazy inclines, and then I did the level 2 shred after I put him to bed. Yeah I'm crazy...and tired. Since Nick is working overtime and doesn't get home until late, I figure why not just shred after T money goes to bed. Kills time, kills calories.

Well today I am planning on doing another walk/jog on hills with Troy & shredding when he goes to bed, BUT I just cannot get the energy. Ive done water, green tea and a coke zero & nothing is working. So Im going to have to pull out all the magic to get myself to accomplish these goals.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Running back into it

Image from here

Well I did it - I signed up for my 1st race since the little bambino made his way into the world.

Tell me my child couldn't be a baby model and I'd call you a liar

So it's a 5K. Not too harsh, I just ran a 5K yesterday on my long lost boyfriend, Tread Mill so come Thanksgiving, I'll be golden...and skinnier. Seriously girls, I am OVA' not having that pre baby body back. Sure my body is just "so amazing" and brought another person in this world, but I want my cake and I want to eat it too - aka have the baby and the body. So while everyone is stuffing their bellies full of delicious holiday foods, Im going to stuff mine with portion control - YAAAAAAY (insert sarcasm here). I just polished off that last pumpkin cookie this morning (coffee and a pumpkin cookie first thing in the morning - try it!) so no more sugary temptations here. Unless you count the Merlot on my counter, but I WILL NOT be giving up my adult beverages. I'm a mom, remember? Raven knows what I'm talking about....

I Wish you a Merry Christmas

Yeah, so it's that time. That time to start thinking about Christmas girls! If your like me, you've been thinking about Christmas 2011 since, oh.....December 26, 2010! I am always so sad to see the Christmas decor come down, the tree come down, the apple cider leave the shelves at the store....WAH!

This year Shutterfly is doing it again. Im sure many of you bloggers remember last year that Shutterfly was giving away a promotion for free, yes FREE, Christmas cards. Well, this year is no different. I know you all are familiar with Shutterfly. A lot of people have used them for calendar gifts (great gifts for out of town in laws to see their grandkiddos), or even just picture type gifts that are GREAT to use for meaningful gifts for your mom or even hubbinator. Another bonus? Their so easy to use! So that in law thats so hard to shop for? Or how about your great aunt you RARELY see, but want to send a gift of your cute little babe? Go to Shutterfly and hook them up!

I have already scheduled a professional photographer for this years pictures (damn you pumpkin cookies looking so tasty right now!) for 1st week of December. So whatever beautiful pics she shoots, will be going on these cards. Last year Nick and I had a Christmas card similar to this:

Pretty clean and straight to the point, right? That's what I loved about Shutterflys selections - there is something for everyone. I obviously love the more festive in your face designs, but I guess since Im not the only one on the card, I gotta listen to everyones opinions ha!

This year, I'd really like to go for something like this:

or even this:

We'll see what Nick says and I guess it also depends on how the style of the pictures are too. Gotta make it all matchy match.

So are you a blogger? Want a chance at 25 free cards this holiday season? Register here: http://goo.gl/DDw7Q . Like NOW. Go do it!!!

Never go to bed without curling your hair....huh?

So got back from the doc ma' lova's ......

I have gangrene..... kidding! Wouldn't that be the pits? But I do have a pretty messed up poison oak rash that needed steroids and a special steroid cream. The steroid of choice was Prednisone. Before going to pickup the said Prednisone, I dropped by my moms and raided their gauze, vet tape (works like a charm with sticking good!), and medical tape. I am so over oozing through my shirts (sexy, no?), so I'm wrapping my stomach and arm up so I can't get little T stuck with this crazy ass rash.

Once I got home, I googled Prednisone side effects. These were some of my favorites

inappropriate happiness ----- so will this be a bad time to attend any funerals?
changes in personality ------ Ummmm, this already happens. My personality changes day to day. Depends on how much sleep I get of course.
bulging eyes------ Just FYI Nick, that isn't a giant toad in your bed, it's your wife! MUA HAHA HA
changes in the way fat is spread around the body--- SWEEET!! Finally something that will make sure all the calories go straight to my boobs!

Another side effect? Insomnia!

SCREW YOU, POISON OAK AND INSOMNIA!!

Insomnia? What insomnia? You mean curling my hair before I crawl into bed to only mess it up isn't normal? At 11 at night? Are you sure? Hmmm.....

***Things to note in the pics - 1. due to all my super Charlie Sheen energy, I will be cleaning that messy mirror tomorrow when I clean the rest of the case. 2. Ignore the toilet, but doesn't everyone have one? ****

I find this whole insomnia business sorta ironic now that I've got Troy sleeping like a champ..go figure... Have you ever been on Prednisone? Any crazy side effects I should know of?

Paying it Forward

Happy Sunday beautiful! I know everyone is grumbling cause Sunday means Monday is tomorrow.

Monday = WORK = No bueno!

My poison oak is still flaring its ugly head. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow and beg and offer my 2nd born (she can't have my 1st, I love him too much) to her if she can squeeze me in. My stomach is gnarly people. So ewwwwy, I'll spare you details, but basically I'm pretty sure it's infected. I'm so sick of this shiz. Which sucks cause I wanna run and work out. I haven't gone to the gym in forever. Sure I run 3-4 times a week, but I want squat some iron!
Ew.

So I'm signing up for the gym once this PO is gone. Getting back to lifting, more running, switching up cardio workouts. Ya know, the stuff I actually consider fun. My muscles are in need of some serious fine tuning and Im determined to be walking around with a banging body and my 1.5 year old come next Summer.

On Saturday T Pain and I headed out for our grocery shopping early. On my way back, I was starved, so through the Starbucks drive thru I went for one of these babies

The Starbucks Egg white, reduced fat turkey bacon sandwich - hold the cheese. So anywhoot, I was behind this new Hyundai and next in line. Once I got up to the window, the cashier told me the woman in front of me already paid for me. Say what?! I was blown away girls. I mean, who does that? Not anyone in this neck of the woods. I was so appreciate and immediately wanted to pay it forward. So I asked the cashier how much the person behind me's order was. "$7.49", she responded. PSSSSSH.....did I REALLY wanna blow the rest of my gift card on this stranger? YES, YES I did, nothing felt better.

Someone get me a bristle brush

I have poison oak....joys of living in the country. Oh, but I don't just have a smidge. I have a whole crap load of the devil on my stomach, on my wrist and it climbs up my inner arm, oh and on the corners of my arm pits. I'll spare you pictures, its pretty nast. I swear, I have no idea how this happened. I wore TWO shirts, and the top one was a long one. Nick trimmed back a ton of it, and I hauled it up in a pile. We may or may not have thrown it over on our neighbors side of the fence? No one lives there anyways, pfft....

So due to this fabulous shade of red (and nasty scratches), I am taking a pause in running/working out/bow chicka bow wow, since I read sweating can cause it to spread. And mama don't need that. I am already paranoid enough as it is that when I wipe my arse, my wrist will touch my butt cheek, then it's all over! ....You still with me?

Im sure Im gonna get a lot of "Your a nasty bish" comments about this, but we are letting Troy cry it out at night. Or as I like to think of it "sing himself a 20 minute song in the middle of the night". Yup. He's 8 months old, he has shown me plenty of times he is capable of sleeping through the night, no. more. Miss. Nice. Mom. So tonight will be night 3. Last night was better than the first, so I hope that is the pattern that keeps. Its tough to listen to him, I sure as heck don't want to have to deal with abandonment issues when he's 15 due to the fact, I let him cry for 20 minutes when he was 8 months old. I've talked to a TON of moms who have done this. You seriously wouldn't believe the number of moms who have come out of the woods who've done the same thing and were so encouraging. It's kinda crazy too, cause I have been beat ever since I've started this "cry it out" deal. You'd think I'd get more sleep...FALSE. I have not gotten more sleep, I lay there listening to him, telling myself over and over "this is for the best, this is for the best, I wonder if I have another bottle of wine in the cupboard?, this is for the best, this is for the best"
