SUNSHINE

N and I had an amazing ride/run! Come to find out, there seems to ALWAYS be something going on at our half way point. Last week there was a miniature/homemade boat race thing going on and today it was a rowing match (or whatever they are called). It as gorgeous out!!

So the total run today ladies and gents was a brisk 4.96 mile run/ride and since it seems my miles are upping the closer I get to my 10K, I need to start icing my knees and my ankles. I can definitely feel the wear and tear on the old body.

Oh and I have received a few emails re: how my hair turned out. Well....let's just say, I am getting used to it. I haven't been this blonde in a LONG time, so it's a shock to see my mug in the mirror with blonde hair framing my face. That's the other issue I have with it right now....I kinda sorta only put it on my long bangs around my face and pretty much on the hair that is visible when I put it in a ponytail. N thinks it looks fine, but I guess I'm way more critical on myself and I'm a tad nervous as to how the ladies at work are going to react to it. I had to do it twice cause it turned out orange in some spots and that was a no-go. I still feel like it has some brassy color to it and I put some of this Loreal shampoo on it, that says it'll tone up the blonde a bit, but I'm still thinking I'm gonna get this no brass kit I saw next to the hair dye. The first time I colored it yesterday, I almost pulled a Britney and shaved it off.

I think N was a little scared at how serious I was. There is something about a girls hair, that if the color is messed- we will freak the heck out! Just plain and simple. I had a bit of a panic attack, but when we met the Besties at dinner, Bon Bon assured me it looked fine. But since I know my lovely readers are honest as an American Idol panel, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK :) Any tips to take out the brass without frying it and not spending a bajillion $$?

Have an amazing rest of your weekend my honest loves!

Ahhh the weekend

Workout today consisted of a short, but QUICK 3.5 mile run with 20 minutes of strength training with legs and running crazy errands. I am sitting here with hairdye in my hair making myself more of a blonde :) What can I say, blondes have more fun :) I have 15 minutes left with the stuff on and then it's time to FINALLY shower! Haven't showered all day and I ladies and gents am smelling ripe!

N and I have date night with our favorite couple, Bestie Bon Bon and her hubby. It's mexican, mmmmm, and I plan on ordering a "Skinny Girl Margarita", and TRYING to be good ;)

Have a great Saturday night bloggies!

Weekend plans

So the sun has decided to come out this afternoon. The sun coming out is almost a bigger surprise then Johnny Weir coming out

Look at what my weekend is looking like so far? On Sunday we are having a chance of rain, but the chance is only 30%, so I'm thinking that it is VERY likely (happening), that N and I do our ride/run then.

Also, after watching Miss Ashley this morning on BL, I have decided to step up my workouts. I haven't been going to X Bike during the week because I am so tired after work, but I think I can at least go on Monday nights. Lets face it, it's a killer workout, and I never leave there regretting I went. Then I think I'm only going to run after work with the girls (see my blog about 2-3 posts ago), on Thursdays after work and maybe the occasional Friday. That way I still get after work time with N (insert the "awwwwww's" here). So my workouts will look like this:

Sundays: Run/Ride with N (the forecasts are looking really good these upcoming Sunday's) equals about 5 miles or REST day

Mondays: Workout in the AM (2.5 mile run & legs) and X Bike (30 minutes) in evening

Tuesdays: Workout in the AM (3 mile run & triceps & back strength training)

Wednesdays: Workout in the AM (3.5 mile run & abs)

Thursdays: Workout in the AM (3 mile run & biceps & shoulders strength training) after work run with girls (about 3 miles)

Fridays: Workout in the AM (2 mile run & legs & abs strength training) maybe after work run with girls (about 3 miles)

Saturdays: At LEAST a 4.5 mile run on tread-
I can't forget I have a 10K in April and I need to up my mileage and quit being sucha whimp about it! Isn't the saying "Just shut up and do it?" From here on out I need to run 5 miles or more every Saturday. My 10K is only a month and some change away! EEEEEK!!! Where did the time go?!

There you have it folks. Of COURSE as always, if my body is ever feeling run down with my workouts, I will throw in a rest day. This schedule is something that I know my body can handle and is in no way the "right" routine for everyone. With that said, I am sticking to this for 1 month and then I'll switch up my routine probably after my 10K.

Black Team all the way!

I got so choked up! My girl Ashley (an original pink team member), lost 10 lbs this week and carried the black team to the winning corner! The odds were against them and BAM! Team Jillian all the way, and she couldn't have said it better, when she said that the black team won because they got heart! They want it, bad!! I could not be happier! I am also pro black team, and this is why! They are ALWAYS the underdogs, and they always show strength and heart! Ah, what an inspiring way to start my morning. Michael thought he was sooooo smug picking the teams the way he did, which btw irritated me. It was SO game play, and he was right when he said "he's gotta look out for himself", it's still a WAY unfair advantage...or is it? Ashley just threw that all in his face with a whopping 10 lb loss!!

Whenever you think the odds are against you, your probably right, but don't you dare give up! Don't let the doubters win, and stick to your guns. Your going to have ups and you are sure as heck going to have some downs, but not to sound like Miley Cyrus, but it's not about getting to the other side, it's the climb and what you learn and take away during that climb.

Get in a rut? Switch things up- there are SO many resources (magazines, website, DVD's), that are sure to throw you a curve ball and are actually fun to do? Imagine that...a FUN exercise? Maybe even look into getting a session with a personal trainer. Most gyms offer a free session with a pt, and if you don't keep at it with that trainer, at least you walk away with some knowledge and experience with exercises/machines that you may have not ever known/used before. The beautiful thing about this life, is each day is NEW day- it's okay when you stumble, because you can get your balance back, and tomorrow is a brand.spankin.new.day!

YOU ARE WORTH IT- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Hey there cupcakes! How's your week going? Can you believe that we're already to Wednesday. Mua ha ha! Friday just keeps getting closer and closer- LOVE IT! I don't have plans for this weekend except cleaning, putting more blonde in my hair (it's driving me nuts!), and watching my bunny boo (niecey to those who are new readers) play her basketball game at my old Junior High. It's nuts to go back to the old stomping grounds where to be honest, I loved. It wasn't until HS, that I found out that "the mean girls" in school, talked behind my back and called me mean names. Hello Debbie Downer. You know what's funny though? Most of those girls wanted to be my friend on Facebook- their so nosey, and fake, so no thank you- friend request DENIED!

so yeah, I am aware that it is only 7:25AM, BUUUUUT, I am proud of my 3.23 mile run this morning! Yup-today was all cardio because I felt like I hadn't done much of it since the Sunday run. What have you done (so far), to make you feel proud?

I am seriously in sort of a workout rut with weight training, which usually means I need to flip thru my old Oxygen magazines, and finding something. I am also considering throwing in 30 day shred back into my routine. I miss Jill, and she got me so far once before, and I feel like I just need some new stuff in my routine.

What do you do to freshen things up?

Have an AMAZING hump day lovelies! 2 more days and it's Friday, HA!

Recap

Who is excited for Real Housewives of New York to start?! AHH!! I cannot cannot wait! I will be really bummed to see the OC housewives go (until next season of course), but NY is my 2nd favorite and it looks like it's going to be juicy! I am so bummed though cause it looks like Bethany and Jill are not going to be PIC's (Partners in Crime)

and also, it looks like that Kelly (I swear she hears crickets in her head every second of the day) and Jill are tight. WTF?

The last episode of OC Housewives last Thursday was really good and I am so sad that Tamra and Simon get divorced because I actually thought they were the more normal couple of the show and Tamara has always been one of my favorites. Oh and get this- Alexis has slowly but surly became one of my top 2 favorites! I know she's a walking contradiction with her whole "beauty is on the inside, but mom, get a face lift and laser eyeliner and peels and blah blah blah", but I still like her. Her husband, Jim, on the other hand, not so much.

And let me ask you all something that bugs the crap outta me...WHY THE HECK IS GRETCHEN STILL WEARING THE HUUUUGE ENGAGEMENT RING THAT JIM(HER "FIANCE" THAT PASSED AWAY)PROPOSED TO HER WITH?! SHE IS WITH ANOTHER GUY ALREADY AND STILL WEARING IT?!

Oh man, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be tuning in to the season finale on Thursday!

And we're back!

N and I just got back from our run/ride. We went about 5.15 miles and it was fabulous! As promised, here are some pics. I tried to upload a video, but it wasn't downloading right :( We got to a point on the trail that met up with a popular recreational area where people can rent kayaks and things like that. There was some boat club and they were having a race with them.

It was great to be out in nature actually LIVING! I can't imagine 2 or even 3 years ago, if you would have told me running that far or even being outdoorsy, I would have believed you. My my, how things change (for the better). Oh and before I post pics, let me just tell you, we passed a TON of bikers. Not just people on bikes who were doing a lazy Sunday stroll. No. The kind that zoom up on the right or left of you and take every part of their ride EXTREMELY seriously. Down to the dorky rear view mirror on their helmet and matching spandex shirts and pants, which btw, some of them just SHOULDN'T have been sporting. But I guess I gotta share the road :)

Heading out pre sweat
Just leaving the casa- this pond is right behind our place and at night and our windows are open, you can hear frogs, its the best!

Halfway point on the river- you can't see, but I was trying to be artsy fartsy when the birds were taking off on the water on the right of the picture

N had to readjust his seat a couple of times- hey, it's expected with a new badass bike

N and I had a lot of fun and it was nice quality time with eachother. We've decided to do it once a week, which I couldn't be happier about :) Love working up a sweat with my hottie hubbs!
