Getting to know you Sunday

Oh man, it's already Sunday? This weekend has been really nice - Saturday walked 4.5 miles with one of my friends I've had since elementary school. She's in her 3rd trimester and is glowing. We've decided to walk every Saturday morning. Then it was prenatal blood tests, gym and up to my parents house for the afternoon. My mom leaves for their place in Mexico today and she's going for 3 weeks - what am I going to do?! I winded Sunday down with a BBQ at my cousin's house and some of my grandma's rhubarb apple strawberry crisp.

And today? Long story short - it was domestic Sunday.

1. What is YOUR definition of sexy?
Most def confidence. If someone just keeps to themselves and is standoffish, it can be a turn off. So carry your heads high ladies -- your all gorgeous and sexy!


2. Would you rather clean up puke or change a poopy diaper?
Most def a poopy diaper. I think I would puke if I had to clean up someone else's puke. Its funny tho, cause now that I think about it, baby puke doesn't gross me out, but adult puke does


3. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Oh most def extrovert

4. If you had to give up 1 of your 5 senses for a year, which would you give up?
Taste maybe? it would be a great weight loss plan hehe :)


5. Cake or Pie?
Oh I love both - especially when their made by mi madre.


6. If you could play any character on TV (old or current) who would you play?
Olivia Dunhum from Fringe. She can kick anyone ass, has the brains and looks, and Joshua Jackson is so head over heels in love with her

Forever 21, but it's hard not to wanna buy everything, so at the moment it's babycenter.com to get info on my baby bean


8. The highlight of my day is...
getting home from work and getting to kick it with the hubbinator

13 weeks

Today marks the 1st day of my last week in my 1st trimester (did you catch that? lol). SO excited and thrilled to move onto the "honeymoon phase". Which is what I've heard the 2nd trimester being called. Feeling really good lately, no need for that Zofran -- well maybe after workouts when I'm just not feelin it.

Whats happenin with my little bean this week?
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Exciting, right?!

How far along? 13 weeks

How big is the baby? The size of a shrimp in a shrimp cocktail, mmmmmmm

Weight gain? I don't think I've gained more than 5lbs so far

Stretchmarks? Still none. Hoping for none. A girl I worked with told me her mom used Olive oil on her belly EVERY day, so that's what I've been doing

Maternity clothes? thank God I can wear Maxi dresses to work - lots of stretching in those babies

Sleep? Like a baby - I fall asleep during commercials!

Best moment of the week? Moving into our 2 bedroom place. The furniture goes in there on the 18th and then I'll just sit in there and stare I'm sure.

Food and Cravings? Oh I crave ice water with a slice of lemon in it. With a straw if you please

Gender? Not sure - we find out early September, but Nick refers to the baby bean as 'him'

Movement? None yet :( Although I've heard week 14 you start feeling the flutters - cannot wait!!!

What I miss? So far, not much - life is grand :)

Belly Button? still an innie, but when I eat a lot and my belly gets firm, it pushes my belly button ring out a bit...might need to get a prenatal ring sooner than I thought :)

Looking forward too? finding out the sex!! Oh and my 1st prenatal massage, whenever that may be

Milestone? the last week of my 1st trimester!!!

Eventful evening

Some people need to watch their cats dang it! Nick and I were just relaxing out on our new patio last night, BBQ'ing some brats when Daisy came out to chillax with us. There was a cat on the other side of our fence and Daisy LOVES cats, so she started to play with it from under the fence when BAM! She let out the biggest yelp. Thinking she just got a small swat on the nose, Nick and I kinda laughed, but when she walked over to us the laughing stopped. My babies eye was bleeding!!!! I panicked thinking that stupid lion cut my dog's eye.

After examining, it was just the inside of her eye lid (thank GOD!) and I quickly called my mom to see what I should do. After a water bath in the eye, some saline eye drops and eye ointment, she was good to go. Oh, and after some french fries, she was even better :)

This weekend was packed -- and unpacked. I love long weekends where you feel accomplished and get everything done that needs to be done. First things first--

Friday night- came home and finished packing everything up. I then realized how much crap I actually have and how much I needed to toss.

Saturday- lets just say "God bless my parents!" . Seriously, they were such an amazing force to have there. They moved EVERYTHING for me. Nick was at work, so I needed the help. Saturday was a hot one too, so carrying boxes and boxes of stuff down stairs and then across the parking lot to the new apartment was no walk in the park. My gma came over for a bit and had lunch with us and help me unpack kitchen stuff. I LOVE that I have a bigger kitchen now. It'll come in handy for when the baby comes since they seem to have lot of bottles, sippy cups, etc. Oh and don't get me started on our nice bigger dining room. All Nick has to do now is hang the paintings and mirrors and we're in business.

Sunday - Nick had 4th of July off. So I made us a bomb breakfast, and I ran off to church while he stayed back and did the man stuff and hooked all the speaker stuff up. Then we did what most Americans do on 4th of July - laid by water and BBQ'd. The belly and I just wanted a good ol fashion American hot dog, corn on the cob and some potato salad. We were both pleased :)

Monday - So guess what I went and saw with Bestie Bon Bon? ECLIPSE!! Okay, so I have NOT read all of the books, in fact I only read the 1st one, Twilight. It was really good and made the movie a whole lot better. The 2nd movie was good, and Eclipse I'm rating a 7.5 outta 10. It was good, but not GREAT in my opinion. And can I just say, I am officially Team Jacob (if I was 13 and picked teams like that). I know ladies, some of you think he has a pig nose, but he is so much more my type than Edward. I love the things Edward has to say to Bella, but Jacob? He is that bad boy who will always keep you warm. Let's appreciate the LEGAL hottness that is Taylor Lautner, shall we?




Now, where were we? So after a little Taylor Lautner drooling and cursing Kristen Stewarts acting under my breath, I headed to Home Goods and Marshalls to get some new furniture for the place with my mom. We had some GREAT luck with finds -- thanks mamacita for a fabulous Monday afternoon.

12 weeks

So today I am officially 12 weeks--2 more weeks and I'll be in my 2nd trimester!! So at my OB's we discussed getting blood tests to test for birth defects such as down syndrome. So I have an appointment scheduled for July 10 bright and early. Theeeeen I have to wait 2 weeks to get results!! AH! I am confident that things are fine & my doctor seems to think so too. She says since I'm young, I'm healthy, and I have no history of any sort of birth defects in my family, things should be fine. My baby is now the size of a lime, as in a lime margarita (that I won't be drinking for a few more months).

Who is ready for a long 3 day weekend for 4th of July?! ME, ME ME!! Nick and I are moving into our 2 bedroom tomorrow, BBQing and doing fireworks Sunday, and then he's back to work Monday. I on the other hand get Monday off (snaps for paid holidays!),so I'm sure I'll be tidying things up and getting stuff for our 2nd bathroom at Walmart! Have a fun and safe 4th everyone and remember what we're celebrating!

1st Ultrasound

So my appointment yesterday went really really good! Nick was with me the entire step of the way, he and was a champ! Let me just say that I LOVE my doctor and everyone in her office. Everyone is so nice and just makes me feel so comfortable. We didn't get to hear the little beans heart beat, but my doctor measured the rate and it was 174 -- that thing was tickin away! The most amazing thing I've ever seen and at that moment I fell in love with my baby. Oh and Nick COULD see the difference between the head, body, arms and legs and he could even see the heart flicker on the screen. Our little bean was so active and even at one point was doing a headstand sorta move. So this means that if its a 'she', she'll be a natural at gymnastics and if it's a 'he', well he will be able to press his own weight, easy.

My doctor went over all the normal stuff that OB's go over with you and stuff/tests I have the option to do in my 1st and 2nd trimesters, etc. I got to ask my list of questions to her and I was SO happy with the answers. I'm not going to be a total deprived mama to be like I thought I'd have to be :)

After that Nick and I headed straight to CVS to make our announcement cards that we're mailing out today. Then of course, we made a b line to red lobster for some crab legs :) The belly and I were very happy
