My Heart is Full/Weekend Recap

Top of the mornin to ya! I just came back from a make you wanna puke workout (The best kind in mine and Jillian Michaels opinion!) and thought I'd like up for my Weekend Update

My weekend was filled with love for the 2 guys in my life....and shopping!! Sadly I didn't take a picture of my loot before I hung it all up in my closet, but my very generous loving mamacita, took her youngest out to shop for some clothes for my birthday present (my birthday is 10 days away exactly!) and it was glorious! I know Im not the only girl who loves to shop. Granted, there are some girls who just cant stand it, but I? I love it! I get so excited when I score a hot little something on the clearance rack or if I catch a great sale. Which is what happened this weekend. Kohls is where it's at ladies. Most of the tops I got was the Rock & Republic brand they started carrying, but I got a couple Jennifer Lopez sweaters (sooooo comfy and sex-ay! Sure to warm that special guy in your life haha), and a Lauren Conrad sweater. Oh and I got these
I wanted something that didnt scream mom (Im talking to you sketchers!) and I am NOT on that TOMS train - blah! Sorry, but it's how I feel. Anyways, these are classics and paired with the right jeans and just a casual top? Im in!

Anyways, here is my handy dandy (you can thank Blues Clues for that) collage about this weekend:

1. This is my little BBQ dude. He cooks up cuteness on the daily, as well as snot - poor dude has a cold. Tis the season
2. This dude is healing from having his meniscus taken out & I cant tell you how much I enjoy doting in him. It helps that he's an easy patient, but our days have consisted of him icing and elevating his leg & me getting him snacks/beverages. So happy for him since now he can actually STRAIGHTEN his leg which he hasn't been able to do in 3 months! Oh, the little things in life. Anyways, he makes me happy and I *did* say in sickness and in health, so Im doing my right to take care of him.
3. Nick was feeling up to going to the park with our little T Rex and oh Mylanta, it was hot. Troy had a fun time climbing around the pretty sweet playground & the trees. He is normally a wuss when it comes to going down the slide, even tho he says "wee!" when he sees other kids. This time however, he did it a few times! Pretty sure it was cause dad was there :)
4. And lastly, this was a verse I got on my YouVersion Bible app & it's true. I think we (and by we, I mean *I*) tend to think it was us that worked so hard for the privilege of being saved, when really, it was God who saved us. We didn't save ourselves, Christ did. We came to know Him because of His work in our hearts. This was a great verse in humbling.

Can't wait to see what y'all did this weekend! Link it up, ladies!

Weekend Update, Yo!

Top of the morning to ya ladies! I hope y'all had a fun weekend and it went by nice and slow. Can you believe we are already in August?! If you weren't aware, that means here in Northern Cali, we have about 2 more months of heat and we are into Fall, baby! Last night I got a taste of Fall with the 1st Preseason NFL game. I like me SOME hot Summer days, but THIS?
I know you Texas ladies, this is nothing. This is like night time temperatures for y'all. Nickmeister is home today, so we're taking T Money to the park that has water features. Cause lets be completely honest - it's way too hot to be dry in the heat today.

Now, here was my weekend:

1. The Color Run. You've all seen it on Pinterest & saw how fun it looked. I was stoked I was able to run it.  Well...more like walked and skipped through it. This run deserves a post for itself so more to come on that either tomorrow or the next day.
2. Football was back last night! Some women either love football season or hate it. I for one...LOVE IT! I get very invested in the games where I actually care about team. I love the food on Sunday night football, the cute jersey I slip on, and all the excitement. Obvi I am a Denver Broncos fan and with Peyton Manning this year? I cannot freaking wait! I will still be catching the Jets game whenever I can cause Mr. Tebow got the shaft was traded to the NY Jets. Speaking of Timmy T...
3. THIS my dear sweet readers, is something I will forever remember. So when I ran the color run, my bestie Jenni, asked if I wanted her to snap a picture of me Tebowing since I did it for the half marathon too. So down on 1 knee I went, I posted it on Instagram & Twitter, not thinking anything of it. I went back later to check my updates, and I about died. I was like a 12 year old little girl, doing a screeching talk to Nick about how Tim Tebow "liked" my picture! I am just ecstatic Tim Tebow knows I even exist! So now its safe to say we're BFF's, ha!
4. The star of my weekend - the hubbinator. It had been forever since we had a date night just us. We've been going on group dates a lot. Sometimes you just want to be with your man. Can I get an Amen? We were so excited to see The Dark Knight Rises because #1, we love all the Batman movies and #2, we heard so much hype about how great it was and how it was "The BEST one in the Batman franchise". My review? It was okay. Not the best one in my opinion. But that's because I LOVED The Dark Night (the one with Mr. Heath Ledger). Seriously girls, who doesn't agree that Heath Ledger made that movie? It's my favorite out of the all the Batmans. Although, it was nice seeing Mr. Tom Hardy even if you couldn't see most of his face.

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday ladies! Can I just be real? I love the weekends. DUH, who doesn't?! I love when Nick is home tho. I know this is rare and all, but even after 7 years, I look forward to him coming home & being home all weekend. He's my buddy! Mk, so I don't know if its "rare" necessarily, but it's definitely not something I hear my girlfriends saying about their hubbies. Maybe that just means mine is kick ass?

Im linking up with Sami at Sami Shenangians for Weekend Wrap Up because it was sorta a busy weekend, and it deserves a post!

1.) Last Friday night, yeah we danced on table tops, and we took too many shots.... kidding! So my Ms. Jenni and Ms. Ryan came over (5 kids between us all) and it was chaos. No other way to say it. Our hubbies were out in the acreage that surrounds the valley we live in scouting out deer hunting places come fall, so us womenfolk had the kids. It makes me realize more and more that since Troy is older now, I need to make his room more "friend friendly". I've started to put more toys in there because he does like to walk in there and play when he's bored with what's in the living room, but I need to make it more playable for when friends come over. Because giiiiirls, there were 5 kids in my living room, tearing it up, toys everywhere, and fighting over ev.er.eeee.thaaang! Troy was the only boy, there were two 2.5 year old little girls, a almost 4 year old, and a 6 year old. The 2.5 & 4 year old were doing the "MINE!!!! MINE!!! WAAAAAAAAH!!!!" game. Good thing for my 'rita. I always wonder what Troy is thinking when he's around all the craziness that is a girl because he just stares at them like their cray cray. Get used to it, my friend.

2.) I had my first Stella & Dot Trunk Show - BOO YA!!! It was actually more of a meet and greet for my girlfriends baby girl that is 3 months old, but she wanted to make the meet & greet more fun, so she had myself and 2 other girls there that had their own home businesses. We all had our tables set up and her guests were free to come around and take a look. Lots of fun & I couldn't have had a better "warm up" show. It was a great crowd for my first show. My actual launch show is August 10th, and thats REALLY gonna be some fun - about 20 really fun girls having already RSVP'd! And with Christmas only 147 days away (yeah, I said the 'C' word - Im SO excited for it!), I highly suggest everyone starts their shopping so its not a mad dash at the end of the year. Lucky for everyone Stella & Dot has recently added to their Summer Sale selection. Some stuff may or may not already be in my cart.

3.) LOOK at this bad boy that was in my tire! Holy moly, Im so glad I got this looked at. My tire light came on in my car for the tire pressure, and I thought it was just cause of the crazy weather we've been having here in Nor Cal, that its been screwing with my tire pressure. Im happy I didn't just brush it under the rug cause it would not have been cool sitting on the side of the freeway with a popped tire, and a very active 1.5 year old, waiting on AAA.

4.) This little T Rex of mine deserves a shout out. This picture was actually from earlier in the week, but ohmygosh- love this face, truly my lady killer. That spaghetti sauce just adds to the cuteness!

Hope y'all had a fabulous weekend & did something fun in the sun! Can you believe its going to be August here in a couple of days?! Holy smokes, where has the year gone!?

Paying it Forward

Happy Sunday beautiful! I know everyone is grumbling cause Sunday means Monday is tomorrow.

Monday = WORK = No bueno!

My poison oak is still flaring its ugly head. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow and beg and offer my 2nd born (she can't have my 1st, I love him too much) to her if she can squeeze me in. My stomach is gnarly people. So ewwwwy, I'll spare you details, but basically I'm pretty sure it's infected. I'm so sick of this shiz. Which sucks cause I wanna run and work out. I haven't gone to the gym in forever. Sure I run 3-4 times a week, but I want squat some iron!
Ew.

So I'm signing up for the gym once this PO is gone. Getting back to lifting, more running, switching up cardio workouts. Ya know, the stuff I actually consider fun. My muscles are in need of some serious fine tuning and Im determined to be walking around with a banging body and my 1.5 year old come next Summer.

On Saturday T Pain and I headed out for our grocery shopping early. On my way back, I was starved, so through the Starbucks drive thru I went for one of these babies

The Starbucks Egg white, reduced fat turkey bacon sandwich - hold the cheese. So anywhoot, I was behind this new Hyundai and next in line. Once I got up to the window, the cashier told me the woman in front of me already paid for me. Say what?! I was blown away girls. I mean, who does that? Not anyone in this neck of the woods. I was so appreciate and immediately wanted to pay it forward. So I asked the cashier how much the person behind me's order was. "$7.49", she responded. PSSSSSH.....did I REALLY wanna blow the rest of my gift card on this stranger? YES, YES I did, nothing felt better.

Just Do It

Workout Today: Level 3 Shred and Level 1 Biggest Loser Bootcamp

This workout was tough. Maybe it was because I dreaded working out this morning. No reason in particular, but I didn't want to workout. Wanna know why? This workout combo is hard *that's what she said* I was trying to tell myself that I didn't have to workout, I'd do it tomorrow. Which is probably true, but that's still 1 day of workouts that I skipped. So I did what Nike told me to do, and Just did it! Sometimes thats what you have to do people. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet, not think about it, and sweat.

Weekend was pretty darn good. I checked out a church near our new house and actually really liked it. The pastor was pretty cool and was easy to relate to his message. The set up was different - there were round tables all set up an about 6 chairs to every table. I was trying to find the psychological reasoning behind this and this is what I came up with - I think people (men in particular) feel very vulnerable going to church. Which is probably why more women go then men. Men have a problem submitting (if they learned to submit more, they'd make women's lives a lot easier. Just sayin). So with a table in front of you, to lean against, hide your body a little bit, you feel a little less "out there". So people who have issues being vulnerable or just feel awkward at church, would have an easier time. Smart thinkin! Oh and you get all you can eat donut holes. SOLD! Oh and T man did really good in his first day of baby Sunday school/nursery

The boy was excited for learning about Jesus!

Then it was laying out by the pool for a couple of hours (this is going to be happening a lot for a bit - I am feeling pretty pasty) & back home. Nickmeister had his schedule change not too long ago and he works Sundays, boo! No me gusta. I am needy and want my hubbs/money maker with me as much as possible.

A Little Bit of This..A Little Bit of That...

Whats up ladies? Another weekend has come and gone. Something that's NOT gone? The rain and clouds here in Nor Cal. I mean, c'mon Mother Nature, get with it. It's Spring and don't give me the "April Showers bring May flowers" crap either!

So far this morning has been a success - got myself a heeeer appointment with ma' gurl on May 11th. Just before Mexico. Nobody wants to see a rooty blonde, so I'm being very thoughtful with this one. With laundry all ready well underway, Im planning a trip up the hill to see my mamacita and to go tanning.

My weekend was pretty good - got in a run, looked at houses and might have even have THE house. We aren't totally getting our hopes up because it's so soon in our search for a house, and also there are a lot of things that need to happen before we can get it (such as the bank accepting our offer, inspections, the whole kit and caboodle). So this house is so cute tho ladies, I die! It's an older house on 1 acre (yes please!), wrap around deck, detached 2 car garage, 3 BR, 2 BA and has been freshly painted and re carpeted. There are DEFINITELY things Nick and I would need to re-do if we got the house. Things that need to happen ASAP - remodel the kitchen and open it up, put in new windows, and gut out and re-do a bathroom that's tile is bulging out (why? We don't know - hope it's nothing serious, but the inspector will tell us the 411). Anyways, the price is pretty perfect for us to be able to still have moolah to do our fixings and make it our own and be comfy in it for about 8-10 years. The 1 acre is usable and perfect to kick Troy (and all the other future chitlans) out the door so they can get some energy out. I'm also envisioning where I'd put my chickens (I go through a lot of eggs people, this would save us more money) and where I'd put my veggie garden....but again, not trying to get hopes up. Our realtor said this is the kind of house where you put in an offer, and then keep looking at other houses till you hear back from the bank. So we will do just that.

Its beginning to FEEL a lot like Christmas...

Well my friends, it's Monday and a short week at that! So really, today is like a Wednesday and that is something I can get down and jiggy with. The weather this weekend was amazingly winter like and I loved it! Just above my parents house, people were getting snow. The rest of the week is said to be in the low 50's during the day with low 30's at night, possible showers. Mama like, mama like a LOT! Perfect cozy fire in sweats weather.
This weekend the mister and I house sat for my parents while they were in Mexico (where it's not winter like) and it made me appreciate the fact that I will never own cats again. Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE cats and actually had 2 little bundles of fur when we lived in North Carolina. As much as I loved these 2 knuckleheads, they were little demons in sheep's (or cats) clothing! We couldn't keep blankets on the couch, because they pee'd on them, or they'd pee or throw up in Daisy Mae's bed, or they'd leave track of cat litter kernels all over the bathroom floor. This is not a welcoming feeling when you get out of a nice clean shower, to just step on grains of cat litter, blah! My parents have about 6 or 7 cats. 2 of them are my sisters (her and the Bunny boo live with them for the time being), 1 being one I first got when Nick and I got married, then my DAD fell in love with so I gave to him, and the others are from when I was a teenager or younger. 1 of them in particular is senile! I'm not kidding. She will eat some cat food for dinner, walk out of the kitchen then come back and acts as though she hasn't eaten yet. Oh and if YOU are in the kitchen for any reason: getting water, cooking yourself some grub, picking a wedgie, etc., she will meow and meow and meow until you go mad! Even if you put them all outside, your still ambushed - meow, meow meow meow meow meow is all you will hear until their faces are eating Friskies.
Today I am giving my employer my Maternity leave letter. EEEK! I don't know why, but I always get SUPER nervous prior to something that is out of the normal. Whether going to the doctor (I go so much now, this doesn't happen anymore), going to the dentist (who can blame me?), telling my employer I'll be going on leave (even though it's obvious I am going to..hello baby bump!), or even riding a roller coaster! I guess the part that has me nervous is I am going to confirm and iron out the details of me working from home p/t while on leave and I guess since I've only had a couple verbal confirmations on this, it makes me nervous that my office manager COULD back out. Do I think he will? No, but you just never know. BLAH! I will be a much calmer blogger around 9am when I know the conversation will have already happened.

Have a wonderful Monday (kinda like a Wednesday) ladies!! It's almost Thanksgiving!!!

Your running a what?!

Happy Monday daaawlings! It's just another manic Monday I suppose. My weekend was perfect (coulda been longer), but it was fabulous all the same. Saturday was filled with a quick 30 minute sesh at the gym * I totally slacked off in this department, but I just wasn't 'feeling it'. Plus I had a bajillion other things to do that day, so I left Elli (the elliptical to my newbie followers) after 30. On my 'to do' list that day was to find a lamp for the T man's nursery, so off to my legal addiction I went -- TARGET! I don't know anyone who doesn't love Target and if you don't, I may not wanna know you. After browsing the women's clearance racks (AMAZING DEALS BTW), and picking up a couple new polo's for my Tech saavy hubbs, I focused on the matter at hand, and headed toward the lamps. After a few picture emails back and forth between daddy warbucks, I got this little number in my cart

You can't really tell in the pic, but we got a hazelnut colored one and Nick set it up this weekend, it looks perfect! Sadly, after looking at Troy's nursery, I don't think we're gonna have room for a nice glider chair like I wanted. Maybe next baby, hmmmmm? After Target I met up with my mamacita for some more retail therapy and Home Goods. More like 'I'll take one of everything' Goods. As most of you can tell by now, I LOVE seasonal decor, and they are already had their Christmas stuff out!! Holy cow, I was in Heaven! But after reasoning with myself (and reminding myself Nick would kill me), I decided to just come back during Christmas time and do my shopping then. Smart, right?
Sunday was filled with football (HALLELUJAH BRONCOS WON!) and a decision. A totally bonkers decision at that, but non the less, I will be running a marathon this time next year! EEEEEEEEK!!!

My aunt initiated it, and so since my sister and cousin have also been bitten by the running bug, they will be taking on this endeavor as well. So ladies (and maybe if there are gents reading this), that means, I'll start running again beginning of March time frame and I'm going to have to build my running endurance back up after about a 8 month hiatus, and theeeeeeen start building on the miles. I know I can do this whether I have to walk some parts or not, but it makes me nervous! I guess all that baby weight will be coming off though haha! I think training with Troy in a jogging stroller will be mounds of help too, because pushing him up and down hills will build up my stamina majorly. I pray to the holy running god, I have a smooth recovery from delivery and can train properly ASAP! Any advice from you ladies who have ran a marathon? When I did my 10K (6.2 miles) earlier this year, I swore off long distance running in events for good, and here I am actually committing to a marathon?! Advice from all you ladies would be much appreciated :)

Weekend recap and name change

So this weekend was filled with awesomeness! Saturday it broke down like this-water aerobics w/Bestie Jenni, lunch, babies r us, home and chillaxing. That swim class was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I loved it! I was active and felt really good afterwards. They say water exercise is really good during pregnancy too.Sunday - BABY FURNITURE!!! It looks amazing and guess what? I took pics! Buuuuuut, while I was running out the door this morning, guess who didn't grab the flash drive for her memory card? ME!! So, you'll have to wait till I get home.

Seeing the baby furniture in the room makes everything that much more real. I drifted in there this morning to make sure it was all still there and this is actually happening. I've heard pregnant women say before that times flies, but is slow at the same time. So true! Time drags cause you want your little one to be here, but it flies cause before you know it, your already in your 2nd trimester and you have literally popped overnight! I took a picture this morning of me at 14 weeks and 3 days, and wow! I can't wait to show you guys the picture. I will warn you that I did just eat before I took the picture, but still -- there is no way my eggs and toast can produce a beast belly.

This weekend Nicky Boy and I were talking about names for our little bean. And yes, Olivia Karen is still the girl name, but for the boy name, things have changed a bit. Nick was telling me not too long ago he was a bit iffy on Liam. We both love the name and we might use it for our next one if it's a boy, buuuuut we're calling on another runner up we've liked for a long time: Troy. So ladies and gent's after much discussion, our son (if it's a boy) will be Troy Maximus. If your like me your 1st reaction is "WOAH! Troy Maximus? What is he a Roman solider or some sort of gladiator?" That was my concern, but you know what? I love it and Nick pointed out to me "You can never have a name that is "too strong"". Sure babe, whatever you say ;)

Let's talk baby nursery decor, shall we? Let me unveil the official baby nursery sets:

For an Olivia:

The pictures don't even do the bedding justice. The quilt is threaded with gold threads and the detail is just beautiful! I love the princess and dream theme with the decor on the walls, and I think I'd stick with that. It makes the 'princess' thing not so cheesy and tones it down a lot. Very elegant

For a Troy:

I've been set on a jungle type theme for a boy, and I think this would be the perfect set. Again, it's much cuter in person.

Hope everyone Monday's go by quick :)

Out of Order

Well holy moly, do I have a story for you all-

Friday evening my lower back started to hurt. It hurt at work, but not that bad. From what I had been reading on baby website, lower back pain is super common in pregnancy and even early pregnancy as the round ligaments are stretching. So Friday night, I went to wash my face before bed and BAM! I had the most crippling, paralyzing stab in my lower back that I had ever felt. I panicked! I could stand up straight, I had no idea what was going on. I called for Dr. Nick, and he came rushing into the bathroom as I told him I could stand up and my back hurts so bad. With each step to the bed, it hurt. Sitting in bed and getting adjusted hurt, again, I was freaking out. Nick started to rub it, but it wasn't doing much. I woke up Saturday morning, unable to even move or adjust in bed without crying. So Nick and I thought it'd be a good idea to maybe take a slow walk in the apartment to stretch it out. Bad.Idea. I was up for about 3 minutes, and I could feel myself about to black out. All of a sudden I was nausea's, my sight was fading to black and I couldn't hear as well. I told Nick "something is wrong! I'm blacking out! Nick, I can't see you!!" My hair was soaked in a matter of 30 seconds from the sweat I broke out into. Nick ran and got me some Gatorade thinking I was dehydrated, but all I wanted was him to call 911. I forced down half the Gatorade and in about 2 minutes, my vision was starting to come back. I sat on the bed for 10 minutes waiting to come back to normal before we decided it was time to go the ER.

Once at the hospital (they were all SOOO nice btw, and it's where I will deliver our baby), they took all my vitals and a blood and urine test, and even an EKG. Everything came back normal. The doctor checked out my back and said it was really inflammed and that it sounded like I had either pulled or pinched my Sciatic Nerve.

Since I'm pregnant, there wasn't much he could do in terms of tests or pain medicine, so he suggested I ice my lower back and stretch it when possible, and to take the medicine he was prescribing me - Tylenol with Codeine. I now know, will NEVER take it again. About 30 minutes after my 1st dose, I was a puking mess and learned I am just not made for the hard stuff. I threw up all Saturday and could not keep anything down. It had to have been one the worst day of my pregnancy so far. Sunday morning I woke up still sore, but not as sore, with my nausea ranging at a mild case thank God! So it was more resting, a little more walking around the apartment to stretch it, and icing it.

Today I am doing the same thing. I called in sick because there is no way I could walk around at work w/out getting questions of "what did YOU do this weekend?" I seriously walk like a 80 year old hunchback.

Oh and lastly - Nick and I decided that I needed to tell my boss I was pregnant. So I emailed him (not exactly how I pictured of telling him) last night and told him my weekend recap in short story form, and told him I was pregnant. My biggest concern was that if I didn't tell him I was pregnant, he'd think I'm a slacker and just want to call in sick every week. I plan on having a follow up call with him later to make sure he received my email and to discuss it. I'm hoping to be back at work tomorrow, so I'll keep you all posted. I hope you all had a great and way more relaxing weekend than I did :)

Long time no chat

Well I have been MIA for a couple days, now I haven't I? Well good news - I am back baby & Happy Monday to you all!

This weekend was wonderfully relaxing, but why the heck do they go by so dang fast? Seriously, it seems like the work week drags, but the weekend flies? I was busy with what I'll call my wifely duties - grocery shopping, cleaning the oasis we call home, laundry....you know, the 'fun' stuff :)

Saturday I got my butt to the gym as I had promised . I did 20 minutes on that beast I call the stair stepper, which in turn has actually become one of my favorites, and 20 minutes on the elliptical. Both worked about a quart of sweat outta me. And I couldn't leave without paying respects to the weight machines.

Sunday was more of an active rest day, as I didn't Shred with Ms. Jill, but opted for a nice hilly walk with my mamacita, sister and niecy poo. It was gorgeous outside and I'm guessing we went about 3-4 miles on a very scenic route. I will post some pics once I get some from my niece who takes some pretty amazing pictures for a 10 year old.

This weekend was nothing compared to what is to come Memorial Day weekend...........

THE MYSTERY SPOT IN SANTA CRUZ :)

Via Wikipedia:
"...The Mystery Spot is a tourist attraction located near Santa Cruz, California. It was opened in 1939. The operators of the small site (which is about 150 feet in diameter) claim that it is a place where the laws of physics and gravity do not apply and provide a number of demonstrations in support of these claims."

Supernatural claims and speculation
"Phenomena demonstrated by the tour guides (and by visitors using levels) include two people standing on opposite sides of a level surface who appear to change height as they switch positions and a ball that appears to roll up a plank. At the site, an old shed appears to have lost part of its foundation and is slanted and oddly angled. Additional claims of mystery are the growth patterns of trees and their branches within the Mystery Spot, the lack of animals such as dogs, rodents or even birds inside the compound (visitors are not allowed to bring their dogs on the tour) and the distortion of magnetically calibrated measurement devices such as compasses or even GPS devices. The official website speculates that extraterrestrials buried unearthly metals or a spacecraft beneath the Spot, or that carbon dioxide seeps out of the earth. Another popular speculation is that gravity is affected here, causing nausea and incorrect instrument readings."

And what trip to Santa Cruz would be complete without stopping by this little slice of haunted heaven on the way home?

Via Wikipedia:
"The Winchester Mystery House is a well-known California mansion that was under construction continuously for 38 years, and is reported to be haunted. It once was the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester, but is now a tourist attraction. Under Winchester's day-to-day guidance, its "from-the-ground-up" construction proceeded around-the-clock, without interruption, from 1884 until her death on September 5, 1922, at which time work immediately ceased. The cost for such constant building has been estimated at about US $5.5 million (if paid in 1922, this would be equivalent to almost $70 million in 2008 dollars). The mansion is renowned for its size and utter lack of any master building plan. According to popular belief, Winchester thought the house was haunted by the ghosts of individuals killed by Winchester rifles, and that only continuous construction would appease them."

Pretty spooky Memorial Day, no?

Nicky boy has never been to either one of these places, so I get to live through his eyes in seeing it all over again :)

Weekend recap - cause everyone's doing it

I thought it'd only be right to post a little somethin somethin on this fine (I use that term loosely) Monday.
What is it about Mondays? I have never met anyone who LOVES Mondays, and whenever someone at work is: tired, slurs their words, trips on the carpet (I have actually witnessed this), doesn't feel good, it's always "It's Monday".

I actually had a not too shabby start to the weekend that ended AMAZINGLY- Friday night after work, Nick and I snuck Taco Bell into my purse and headed to Robin Hood like everyone else in the world. Nick was expecting Gladiator Russell Crowe, and he was a TAD disappointed in that, since what he got was Robin Hood Russell Crowe (hello captain obvious haha). Great movie altogether and we'd both rate it a firm 7.5 or 8. Great movie for the boys (violence, and fighting and Russell Crowe) and for the ladies (Russell Crowe...need I say more?)

Saturday started off with a nice 4.89 mile run with my parents hunting dog, Maggie. Since Nick doesn't like me running alone, I enlisted the beast that is a German Short hair Pointer hehe

After a run and cleaning up and re-fueling with my go to egg white sammich (3 egg whites, English muffin from Trader Joes, and some spinach leaves), I headed to my parentals and laid out with some Maui Babe tanning lotion. Thank you West Sac Honey for recommending that little gem, I could tell I was darker than I woulda been had I just gone bare. Wrapped up that day with some pizza with the fam :)

Sunday takes the money people - fast forward to 4:15pm...Nick walks in the front door holding......

He bought me flowers! I flower plant to be exact :) Not only that but he says "We're going on a date tonight too...dinner and a movie". HE'S THE BESTEST BESTEST,:) We went and saw Date Night and holy crap, that movie is hilarious! Steve Carrell just doesn't disappoint and there's even some Marky Mark in there ;) We finished off with ooey gooey Mexican, and was put to bed a happy woman :)

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and now it's back to makin the green jelly beans!

Let's make it a good Monday

So it's back to Monday lovelies. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I follow blogs of people who live in the Nashville area and this is just terrible! My prayers are with everyone there.

My weekend was quite nice - since my hubby got promoted, I treated myself to a little shopping. Old Navy was having a 30% off EVERYTHING in the store sale Friday - Sunday, so of course I had to see what the big fuss was about. I walked out with 2 really cute tops and 1 pair of pants that I love. I could only find a pic of the pants online:

They are very flattering and I got them in black since I needed black pants. They will be great for warm summer nights with some wedges and a cute tank too.

Speaking of wedges, look at what I picked up at DSW-

HOT, right? I had never been in there before and holy moly!! I have found the best place for wedges and heels and flats and tennis shoes :) Seriously, they have everything!! My mother in law was kind enough to send me a gift card for my bday, and I just got around to using it. I am in heaven with these shoes.

The weather couldn't have been more gorgeous! Although, I sadly was unable to lay about by the pool since it was a tad too windy for that. Plus my weekend was pretty busy with shopping and yesterday it was my mama's birthday. I also was a productive maniac and cleaned the entire apartment. It looks amazing and it's sparkly more than Ryan Seacrest's smile

Oh so you ready for the mandatory workout plan for the week? Here is it:

Monday: 3 mile run
Tuesday: 3 mile run with upper body strength training
Wednesday: 3 mile run with legs
Thursday: 30 minute walk on incline with upper body and ab training
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Shred and run/ride

Make it a great day beautifuls!! Just cause it's Monday, doesn't mean it can't be a great day.....right?
