Top of the Mornin' to Ya'

'Ello loves!

Happy Friday and cheers to the 3 day weekend, am I right? As of right now, Nick doesn't 100% have the day off that he knows of. He is currently working in a department that does some pretty important things (*totes bragging on my man here*), so they might need him on Monday.

So as most of my long time followers know, my anniversary is February 14th (Valentines day). Well last night I asked Nick if he wanted to go to the Bill Engval show up in Reno next weekend for a little mini 1 night getaway. He said no, but not to worry, he has something up his sleeve for our anniversary. Well this had me intrigued and as someone who fixates on what surprises could be, I had to have him at least tell me a few things: Yes, it's somewhere we get on a plane to go, and Yes, its w/out Troy (Are you reading this mom? Nick will, if he hasn't already, be asking for you to watch your favorite little Grandson for a couple days in about 1 year). I also know that Nick has already talked to travel agents that his company provides free of charge and has told them what he's looking for, so it's all in their hands now.

It hasn't even been 24 hours since he told me this, and I can't help, but wonder where it is and what we'll be doing. I would be happy with anywhere! BUT....ladies...I am someone who always does things in the extreme. Everything is black and white for me. There is no in between. So, I can't help, but think about a few extravagant getaways:

Italy?
Bora Bora?
Hawaii - this could actually be a possibility since neither of us have ever been
Back (for me) to London? Where I left my heart in 2005.
Greece?

BOOOM!

Guess who is back on the blogging scene today? I know, long time no blog, but that's life, right?

So I hope you girls had a fabulous Valentines day whether you had a plus one or were just living it up single style. I honestly don't get the ba-humbugness of it all. So its a total Hallmark holiday, but if you've ever heard the story of St. Valentine, it's actually kinda sweet. Anywhooot, it was also mine and the mister's 7th year Anniversary! He very lovingly told he hasn't had that "itch" y'all hear about when the seventh year comes along.

So this weekend my WONDERFUL AMAZING mamacita, is taking T Man for Saturday and even keeping him Saturday night so Nick and I can celebrate our anniversary with a fun adult night. I have something planned giftwise for Nick, that I can't share yet just in case he reads this, but its good. Most def the best gift I've ever given him. And what did he get me?

HINTS...

This is happening tomorrow baby! On the rib cage....lotsa pain from what I hear. Wish me luck! Im gonna try to put on a brave face and not act like a person with tourettes while Im in the chair

My weekend in pictures

So I never did run those 5 miles on Saturday- I called it an emergency rest day because I've been feelin some pains in the old knees, and the last thing I want to do is burn myself out, so Saturday, Sunday, and today I'm not working out except the walking I'll be doing with grocery shopping and the cleaning our love shack today. Believe me, it's heavy duty cleaning, so I know it'll be a workout. I hope all of your Valentine's were good to you, I know mine was :) It was our 5 year anniversary- A-yo! We decided to stay in and not go out last minute. It was actually really nice. We went for our massages yesterday, went to Lowes (check out the pics of our patio in progress), and then came home to just relax and watch Couples Retreat (HILARIOUS!!!), and N even made it more romantic by making a fire. I decided if we weren't doing the going out on the town thing, I wanted to make our anniversary/V Day, cheeeesy- enter heart shaped pizza! haha! ANNND I made us each heart shaped personal cakes (We ended up sharing one). I thought I was being oober healthy by using a oil/shortening/butter subsitute for the cake and the frosting. It's made out of prunes and other various fruits. The verdict? The cake itself was delicious and most and the frosting? Eh, not toooo shabby, but it wasn't quite the vanilla frosting taste I wanted. N's verdict was to use REAL vanilla frosting next time on his. My anniversary gift from N? Well since my Romeo likes tradition, the 5 year anniversary gift is supposed to be wood, so he stuck to that to a 'T'! Only him and I would understand this joke with the saying, but let's just say, I LOVED his gift and I appreciated the thought that went into it. It's original and I love him evern more. So without further udo- here is my weekend in pictures.

The Patio- IN PROGRESS

N's brand spankin new BBQ (with a certain little ham infront)

Our little Oasis - IN PROGRESS

HEHE, N was crazy obsessed with me taking pictures like this for daaays- now I know why

So if the frosting was on neater, you could see the heart- trust me it's there- if I hadn't used the subsitute in the frosting, it would have been white

The start of our night

You can see how I try to justify my pizza is healthy with the few spinach leaves I had on the heap of mozarella and chedder

Just so you all can see what was in the subsitute

The cake mix- got it at Target for $3.99- not too shabby
