Get it gurrrl

Hello lovelies. Things are crackin down in Karli's workout world. I means business when I've gone out of my way to buy new calendar inserts (and fun colored sharpies) to write out my workouts

I am feeling yesterday's upper body routine that I found at bodybuilding.com. Today Im going to my parents house to run with my sister on this killer running trail that just so happens to go by my new house (HOPEFULLY! We find out tomorrow). So that'll be cardio. I am sticking to it girls. This plan will take me till the middle of August and then I'll switch up my plan. Its a 5 days a week sorta deal and IMO focused. More than ever I'd say. I am read for pre baby Karli. I have some more toning to do, and I still have about 10lbs I'd like to lose. So I'll keep ya'll updated on that. Ms. Kourtney Kardashian has had numerous spreads in magazines that if she can get back to pre baby shape, anyone can.

{Amazing, 'nough said.}

Don't all celebs say that? I seem to remember Kendra said that same thing. Love Kendra btw, even though her laugh can be pretty darn annoying.

Whats all your summer plans to get ready for swimsuit season 2011?

4 Months

Okay, so I'm about a week late. A lot has been going on with trying to play catch up coming back from vaca and then we have been looking at houses and tomorrow we are putting an offer on another little beauty & if we land it, I'll tell ya'll allll about it. But I can't skip over Mr. T Money's 4 month shout out.

* Is talking like crazy and blowing spit bubbles. Must be related to a Saint Bernard, cause seriously girls, it's cray-zay how much he drools

* Is in LUUURVE with his hands. They are always in his mouth, sometimes both at once. Sometimes causing his gag reflex to kick in

* Plays with toys. He is showing interest in toys finally, hallelujah! I've always looked forward to when he'd sit there with a toy and keep busy while I can do somethin right quick (ie, vacuum, put away dishes, take a shower, catch up on The Real World...)

* Smiles at pretty much anyone who says hello to him. He is a happy little baby. Then he'll usually blow his bubbles followed by a little squeak or two.

* Is in size 3 diapers and 6 month clothes. He can wear 3-6, but just 3 is out of the question. Even 3-6 is getting tight

* Is still waking up once a night, but is down from 6:30/7pm - 7/8AM. Takes about 3-4 45 minute naps a day

* He is sooooo close to rolling over from his back to tummy. He just needs to tuck his shoulder under himself and he'd be good to go

* Tried his first bite of rice cereal - didn't know what to make of it. Swallowed maybe 2 spoonfuls haha.

My Sweet Boy,

Everyday I look at you and swear you've grown overnight. One of my favorite times is getting you out of your crib in the morning and seeing you smile up at me. Daddy loves to sneak up on you and say, "RA!" and you jump, but then him and you laugh together. You are really too big for your Miracle Swaddle Blanket, but you sleep so much better with it, and I think having your arms confined to your sides, comfort you enough to fall asleep. You kick your legs a mile a minute, and I swear that all those miles I ran while pregnant gave you the itch to run one day. Mommy would love a running partner since Daddy doesn't seem to like it all that much. You get so excited with your rattle - your eyes get huge, your mouth goes in an "O" shape and your legs start to kick as if your trying to run after it. You are definitely a determined child and you want to crawl, walk, talk, run a country, all on your own. You don't realize your only a 4 month old little boy, and I think that sometimes frustrates you. You'll try and try to crawl, and you grunt and when you don't seem to move anywhere, you give the cue to mama to pick you up. One day you will run. You will run after bugs, chase after dogs, and roll on the ground until you have dirt all over yourself. And one day, you will be a lazy teenager and just want to lay flat on your face and pretend you can't get up, and I will nag at you to get up and clean your room.

You went on your 1st ever plane ride/trip to Mexico, and trust me, there will be many more. People in Mexico LOVED you. Even little kids would stop in the streets just to pinch your cheeks or look at you with adoring eyes. Daddy got a little protective and towards the end of the trip, closed the strollers umbrella so people couldn't have access to you. You were great on the plane rides and I was so thankful. Our next trip will be to Denver when you are 11 months, so Im praying you are just as good :)

We are getting so many laughs watching you discover different toys, watching your reaction when you tasted your first spoonful of rice cereal, and watching you interact with everyone. You are such a joy in our lives and we can't wait to continue to watch you grow. I can't imagine what things will change in the following month!

Love always,
Mommy and Daddy

Sad day

I promise pictures of Mexico are coming. If your in Sacramento, you know what Im saying when I say, it's perrtty chilly and some Mexico weather and pictures would warm me up pretty fast. For now, check out what I found when I was unpacking today...

How dare TSA rough handle my poor CHI! A girl needs her hair tools. So it was off to ULTA to grab a new and improved CHI. Truth be told, I was looking for the FHI, which I like better, but CHI works perfectly too. And it comes in a snazzy color. Love me my pink :)

Post Vaca Grocery Shopping

And this is what I like to see when I get back from vacation. A fridge stocked with fresh veggies...oh, and plenty of my ice tea

Well Hello Rainy Weather, blah!

Hey there ladies! Did you miss me? I see I've got a new follower or two since Ive been gone, so welcome!! Mexico was fabulous and I have a bunch if pictures that are gonna be coming at you pretty fast, so hang onto your seats! I have mucho grocery shopping to do since there isn't a crumb in the joint, so I've decided to give my Mexico recap in bullet point form.

* Troy did fabulously on the plane rides. Fussed (meaning squirmed around) a few times, but I don't blame him, those seats are cramped as it is, then try adding a a 15lb ball of cuteness on your lap.
* Lesson to Nick: hit the tanning bed for a couple weeks prior to taking a shot at the mexican sun. Can cause some gnarly sun blisters
* If your going to be traveling to Meixco or anywhere for that matter, take a stroller. This stroller was amazing

* On the plane, this gem helped me and T Money relax a bit. He could lay down and nap or sit down on it and be in total relax mode. Which was fabulous for moi so I could get some shut eye too

I would most def recommend this for younger babes. Nick and I booked our Winter Wonderland trip to Denver in Decemeber while we were here, and we wont be needing the boppy. Troy will be gigantor. Im not kidding either ladies. Which brings me onto my next bullet point
* The FILTERED water in Mexico must have growth hormones. While we were here, Troy outgrew ALL of his 3-6 month clothes and can now only fit in 6 months. He is long. We went to the doc before we left for Mexico and he was 25.5 inches long and 14.5 lbs. I have a feeling he's longer now.
* He is talking up a storm since we've been here. All the cute baby sounds - the high pitch coo's, the growls. He's learning the sounds of his voice, and it's glorious!
* I am done with Mexican AND seafood for a bit. Zihuatanejo is a fishing town and its Mexican food with a seafood twist. It's delish, but I'm ready for some pizza and fresh salads, ya digg?
* While on the way here, I walked outta the ladies room at LAX and was face to face with the Crunk King himself, Lil John! I was starstruck, and didn't wanna sound like a white girl and say "HEY LIL JOHN!" And I didn't have my camera or a pen, so I was S.O.L. He wasn't rollin with any entourage which surprised me.
* I also saw jon favreau and Warren Sapp. Got a pic with Mr. Sapp ( will include pic soon and he's HUUUUUGE!! He was smelling like vanilla musk too haha) and jon favreau was rollin with his wife. He seemed sorta like an ass and his wife looked a little stuck up too, so I didn't say hi.

Ma' Body

Hello lovelies! 1st off, thank you all for your super sweet comments about my bikini bod. We are our own worst critics, cause seriously, I don't see myself as bangin as you all are leading me to believe haha. I have received a few questions from you all regarding my workouts and diet, so I thought I'd just publicly announce it.
Up until Troy was 2 months old I pumped. I nursed him for 1 week of his life, and then decided it wasn't for me, so I pumped which still burned a butt load of calories. It's been about 1.5 months since I stopped, so I can't credit that anymore. Plus, I don't' really think this works for everyone (the pumping to get back into bangin shape). I've seen some women hold onto 20lbs from their pregnancy and they are nursing like crazy. While I waited the 6 weeks to start working out again, I walked the neighborhood a lot. Sometimes 2 times a day depending on what the weather was like. Also, by week 3 of having Troy, I started up 30 day Shred, which I did 4 times a week. So I think that jump started my body and told it "hey, it's go time, and we're gonna get this weight off".
As for now, I workout 3-4 times a week if I can swing it. I will go to the gym and run at least 2 miles, and then lift weights (focusing on either my abs, lower body, or upper) for about 30 minutes. If I can't make it to the gym (or I just procrastinate like a mo fo), I will get Troy man in his jogging stroller and I run about 2-3 miles around my neighborhood about 3 times a week. I'm not as active as I'd like, but I think that's just cause my motivation isn't what it used to be. Also, after having my 1st baby, I've been trying to find a "balance" in my life such as: when is the best time to take a shower and Troy wont scream his head off? When can I find time to clean? When can I find time to catch up with my girls on Real Housewives? When can I make important phone calls? When can I eat? What do I do when Troy is crying? What makes him happy? When can I fit time in for my hubby and I for adult time? Where is the closest alcoholic drink? (ha, kidding! sorta...) I think I've got this all down pat (only took me 2.5 months), and feel comfortable enough where I can make my workouts more of a priority. Plus, Troy is waking up once a night, so I do get a good amount of sleep. So once I get back from vacation, I plan on executing a workout plan I have found on bodybuilding.com.
As for my diet, I'll let you all in on a secret. I don't eat all that much. Not because I don't want to, cause trust me, I do. It's just that with a 3.5 month old, I don't get as much time to sit down and eat. Or, when he's down napping, I'd rather nap myself, or clean the house since it's been driving me insane. However, don't mistake this as me saying I'm anorexic, cause that's not it. I DO eat roughly 1300-1500 calories a day (and more if I could find the time). The calories I do take in are pretty close to the best calories I can give my body. I eat HUGE salads for lunch (spinach leaves, broccoli, snap peas, a chicken boca patty, baby corn and some garbanzo beans w/about 2 tablespoons of Italian dressing). I have always loved salads, so this isn't hard for me to do. For dinner it's usually a chicken dish of some sort or a casserole. Whatever is easy and quick. Then for breakfast it's my normal 6 egg whites 1 yolk, fresh spinach leaves, and an orowheat 100 calorie bun. Then I graze if I get hungry and I drink a lot of coffee and water. So nothing spectacular in the least, but that's how I roll. Oh, and if I'm out and about, I try to fit in the most important food group - a cupcake from here.
Before I go also, I will say another thing that has helped me bounce back quick is I stayed just as active when I was pregnant as I did before I got pregnant. I'd go on my lunch breaks to the gym for about 30 minutes of cardio, and then go after work to do some weights and another 30 minutes of cardio.
I will never forget something Heidi Klum said (the ultimate MILF, am I right?). She said something along the lines of, look how you are before pregnancy - if you are in great shape, you'll probably be back there pretty quick, but if you weren't it's going to take some time.

I was in the best shape of my life before pregnancy, and I'm not even all the way back yet. The thing I have to keep telling myself (and maybe it'll help you post baby mama's too), is it took you 9-10 months to get that belly, and it's gonna take about that much time to get back. Give your body a break, it's created life!

HOLLA

Whats up dolls? I hope you had a great Mothers Day whether your a mama or mama to be or just wanted an excuse to eat yummy foods and drink delicious drinks. I, did both. Dinners at my parents house never disappoints.

So I am pretty much going like a hamster on a wheel these next couple of days, Mexico is in 3 days! Today I had to make the runs to get all kinds of medicine in case Troy gets sick in Mexico, and I had to get enough formula and diapers to last us in Mexico and I had to get enough grub to last us till we leave. For the next 3 days, I plan on hitting my old trail (4.5ish miles), for a run/walk with T Money, I'm getting my heeer done by my magician on Wednesday (these roots are baaaaad), and tomorrow my sister and I are takin the kids to get their pics taken. Lets just say COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE. Srrrrsly you guys, its all I was running on today. Thank God it was there, cause the little dude was throwing me through the ringer today. Think major poop blowout in Target, and MAYJA' meltdown in the checkout. It was my 1st ever REAL meltdown. Nick and I call the meltdown cry "the yodel" cause that's what happens when the child gets enough volume. I had people giving me the "God, sucks to be her" look. I gave them the "Wanna take this outside?" look right back. What can I say, I get defensive when I get judgy looks, but I swear I'm sweet as pie normally. Oh, and he didn't want to take naps and I spilled formula all over myself while we were out. Bah! Ready for Tuesday please.
Enough of the bitchin', and onto some good stuff. The FABULOUS Raven is hosting a little snazzy giveaway of her loot. Trust me, it's good loot. So head over to her blog, give her some love, and get in on this giveaway.
Oh and if ya'll remember this post - look what made it's way into my fridge!

Happy Mothers Day to...

My gorgeous and fabulous mom who taught me if you get up and just walk around, you'll feel better. A little dirt never hurt anyone, and it's completely okay to bring a dog in a restaurant..as long as they are in your purse under the table :) She's a rule breaker!

To my BEAUTIFUL and loving sister. Who's made motherhood look so easy. Who shows me what a selfless loving mom really looks like. Who showed me how great being a stay at home mom can really be.

To me! My mommyhood is just beginning, and hopefully one day my son can name a few things that make me a good mom :)

Celeb Mumbo Jumbo

Well didn't I pick the wrong time to be pregnant. Ellen (my new BFF), dedicated her whole entire show to preggo's and gave away a RIDICULOUS amount of gifts. Ummm, I'm jealous. So very very jealous. My parents took really good care of us in this department, so I can't gripe about it too much :) Gifts ranged from a $300 Old Navy gift card, peg perego high chair, crib, crib bedding, baby food, and even washer and dryers!!!! Ummm, yes, I said washer and dryers to wash all those baby poo filled clothes. Can they pay my water bill too?

Jesse James recently went on Howard Stern and confessed that Kat Von D is 100% better in bed than Sandra. How friggin dare you, Jesse! You should have your tongue cut out of your mouth for speaking like that of lovely Sandra. I bet Sandra is a saucy little Mynx in the bedroom, and just cause she won't put on a little mustache and give you a Nazi salute, doesn't really make her a dud now does it? Can you tell I'm bitter/defensive of Sandra?

FABulous Friday

Im linking up with Laura over at Between the Lines for Fabulous Friday.

The fact that it IS Friday

Troy Maximus- this little boy decided to sleep the ENTIRE NIGHT STRAIGHT FOR THE 1ST TIME EVER ON THURSDAY NIGHT! WOOT WOOT, Lets hope this is something that is going to occur often now :)

That we leave for paradise next week..."I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand..."
This is an actual pic of the pools at my parents condo. Ahhh, cannot wait!
