Made it to 38 weeks

I'm taking this survey off of Laura's page just to switch up the questions. Her and I are actually due on the same day some of our answers are going to be the same :)

Today's date: December 31, 2010

How far along: 38 weeks...two more to go and my guess is I will be making it to his due date.

Total weight gain: I have quit asking the doctor when I go in because I think if I know, I'll fixate on it. I'll let you all know at the end of the pregnancy how much I gained.

Size and growth of the baby: The size of a watermelon, 19-21 inches, 6-8 pounds. The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as his abdomen, and his head could be covered in an inch or so of hair. He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time. His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

What's happening to mama this week: Don't panic if you feel electric buzzes down your legs and inside your vagina. Baby has simply stumbled on yet another way to grab your attention - this time, he's bumping against nerves in your pelvis. The next couple of weeks are a waiting game. Use this time to prepare for baby. Take naps, catch up on reading, spend time with your partner. Some swelling in your feet and ankles is normal during these last weeks, but call your practitioner if you notice excessive or sudden swelling.

Sex: A little monster man

Maternity clothes: EVERYTHING. Even a couple of my maternity pants are getting snug, thank God I'm not longer working. It's all yoga pants and leggings from here on out ladies! Tops consist of some strecthy normal tanks and tops and maternity tops.

Sleep: I flip sides about every hour or so. Then every hour after that I am up pee'ing. So I get about 5 hours of solid sleep a night :) Another woo hoo that I'm on maternity leave - I can fit in those naps

Best moment(s) of the week: Christmas was fabulous!! I can't wait to bust out my new jogging stroller and my new sexy wardrobe I got

Movement: Lots of rolling and jabs. According to a baby website, he is at the weight he will be when he's born, but since I've been measuring a little behind, I think he has a smidge more growing to do.

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing new and I don't really have as many "Gotta have it NOW!" cravings like I used to. When I eat, I can't eat that much because I don't have a lot of room

Morning sickness: From weeks 7-14 of my pregnancy, it was nausea all day long. But lately I've had 2-3 couple minute nausea waves. I'm chalking it up to all my hormones zooming around getting my body ready for the big "D Day"

Symptoms:Constant pee'ing, sleepiness, lower back/sciatic nerve pain, I feel like my face is bloating, Braxton hicks, the works.

Labor signs: Not really anything except the fact I'm slowly but surely losing my mucus plug daily. That and the Braxton Hicks and I think I've had 1 maybe 2 real contractions.

Belly button in or out: Depends what position he's in. At the moment it's barely in at all

What I miss: Running! My sexy clothes. I just organized my closet today and I handled all my fun clothes. Can't wait to have my body back.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the surprise that I'm in labor haha. He could come any day at any minute, EEEK!

Things to come in 2011

So guess what? Tomorrow is a new year! 2010 was amazing - Nick and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary (yeah, I was 18 when we got married. He is such a cradle robber haha), we got pregnant shortly after, I got a new job at a successful energy consulting firm, Nick secured himself an amazing job at Apple (and is constantly climbing the corporate ladder. My man is good at what he does lol), we moved into our new 2 bedroom apartment to make room for our little man, and now we are getting ready to welcome our son into our lives! So what is 2011 going to bring? Hopefully:

* an easy/healthy labor and delivery of our little Troy Maximus. He could come any.day.now, EEEK! I'm finishing that hospital bag today and getting it in the car. Enough procrastinating, Karli!

* Learning/adjusting to a baby and lack of sleep and getting a routine for the little mister. Oh and settling into the roll of "mommy" and balancing life.

* Starting "Operation: Get Karli's body back" which will be a new challenge with a new baby and fitting in: lifting and cardio, eating right w/out screwing up my milk supply, and getting back into running. I used to run at least 3 miles a day before pregnancy - hopefully my body remembers how to run haha. I want to get back down to my pre pregnancy weight minus 3 lbs. I was most happy with my body before I got pregnant, so I want to get back there so I can be a good mommy. When mommy is happy, I can be a good mama, and good wife. So important to take care of myself and not lose myself. I got the new Jillian Michaels DVD, Shred it with Weights and of course the stand by, 30 day shred, to help me when I don't have to time to get out to the gym or just to squeeze in a quick workout.

* Training for my 1st ever marathon at the end of 2011. On top of that, I am throwing in some half marathons in my training, as well as a few 10K's. Thank you mom and dad for the new jogging stroller - Troy will be raised in that thing haha

* Adjusting to a 1 income household - I will be sharing all my tips on money saving recipes that I come across as well as other ways to save money.

* Heading to Mexico to my lovely parents condo for a getaway with the fam and little man and hubbs. PLEASE LORD LET ME HAVE SOMEWHAT OF A BIKINI READY BODY BY THEN - approximately 4 months after Troy is born, EEEK, it'll be a challenge!

* Walking down the aisle as a bridesmaid to celebrate Bestie since we were 4 years old (Lisa!!) wedding and watching her marry the man of her dreams.

* Continue blogging of course!! I cannot wait to share my new life experiences with you all!! Be expecting a new updated fresh blog layout/design sometime in the next month - new year, new look, right? Gotta keep it fresh!

It's the Final Countdown!

Oh Thursday, I have NEVER been so happy to see you! If I haven't reminded you all enough, today is my last.day.of.WORK!!!!!! Then it's off on maternity leave. I guess that sorta means I HAVE to have a baby, huh? I was printing out my birth plan to give to my doctor and whatever nurses happen to help with the birth, and holy canolli, I started getting a wicked case of butterflies. Started thinking, "Oh yeah, I guess I have to push him out now, huh?" It's just all so official!
Yesterday I had a FABULOUS day! Went to work (eh, that's not so fabulous), got off at 12:00 and headed to my hair appointment. Mama needed a touch up and it'll probably be my last professional touch up for a loooong time. It can be pretty pricey (even though my girl is amazing and always gives me a really great price), I will most likely do some box highlights to keep up my blonde for a tenth of the price so I can stay home with my little man. After getting labor and delivery ready hair, it was off to the OB for my weekly belly check up (no pelvic exam darn it!). Everything was measuring fine, weight was good, his heart rate was fast and steady which she seemed to be happy with (which made me happy). After I was on cloud 9 from hearing my little man's heart pitter patter, I went to the gym for an obligatory 30 minutes on the elliptical, blah! I don't like the elliptical. When I first started my weight loss journey, it was great because running intimidated the heck outta me. Now that I am a runner through and through, elliptical workouts just don't possess the same pizazz. Speaking of workouts - they are slowing down MAYJA'. I walk on the treadmill for the most part for 30 minutes on my lunch 4 days a week. Then on the weekends I may or may not go on Saturday. I know it's to be expected with my belly getting heavier (and just becoming more tired in general), but even after 9 months of being pregnant, slowing my workouts down is so foreign to me. Although, I'm soaking up this time I have and am going to (try!) enjoy every last minute of this pregnancy. I am only pregnant for the 1st time once and before I know it, he'll be here and growing faster than I want him to.

It's the Final Countdown....

2.5 days ladies! 2.5 working days until I'm on Maternity leave. Today is my last Tuesday to work for a loooooong time. Sure I'll be working part time from home making my companies travel arrangements, but I'll be on the couch with my feet up. That is until my little man gets here, then I will probably doing less of the feet up part, ha! I already have a couple projects for when I go on Maternity Leave before Troy gets here:

1. Organize mine and Nicky poo's disastrous closet. I'm actually really excited to go through all my clothes that will soon fit again. Even my maternity pants are getting tight and my maternity shirts aren't long enough anymore - thank God for Nick's shirts, so much more comfy :)

2. Take Troy's stationary toys out of the boxes, get them in their "home" in his room (their home is his closet and/or under the crib)

3. Organize linen/book closet. It used to be organized, but now not so much

4. Organize pots and pan cupboard. Any suggestions on good ways to make it look more organized and keep it that way?

I have my work cut out for me, that's for sure!

Christmas 2010 in pictures

Whew! I have been so productive today! I've boxed up all the Christmas decorations and got the normal decor back out and out of Troy's closet, made the hubbs a doctor appointment (ahhh, the duties of a loving wife), done 2 loads of laundry - Id say Im ready to teach a class on how to be domesticated...kidding...sorta. I love that today is a paid day off - I have 2 returns to make, an oil change, and then headed to my parents for a little visit with my madre.
Belly update is about the same. I am just now getting that feeling of "okay Troy, you can come out". Sitting on the ground is such a challenge with this belly and then try getting up and then getting in and out of the car. I'll miss him being inside my belly and being the only one to hold him (which I believe I will still have every right if I chose that route), but mama needs her body back.
As promised, here are some pics of my Christmas 2010 aka the last Christmas without kids <----- actually pretty excited about this! Kids are so fun to watch on Christmas.

Holy Baby Belly Batman!

I'm putting away Christmas decorations (<--- I'm nesting and want to get things ready for Troy, otherwise they'd stay up till after the 1st), and I catch a glimpse of Heidi Kulm, er, my big ol' sexy belly. Hello 37 weeks and 3 days! My little man is growing!

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas beautifuls! The day I have thought about all year is here, and the morning was fabulous! I won't stay to chat for long, but I will say I am so thankful and blessed for the family I have. We started the morning off right (and at the early time of 6:30AM) with some cheesy crock pot hash browns, and whole wheat bagels with honey nut cream cheese (<---uuuh-mazing and sadly will not be allowed on my "Operation get Karli's body back" mission) thanks to my lovely seeeeester. During our package opening intermission, I did the easy stuff and popped in some cinnamon rolls into the oven. Pictures to come probably tomorrow or Monday. I got so many clothes and workout clothes and a sweet new pair of Asics! Not to mention the tightest little ride for Mister Troy Maxims - a jogging stroller for me to push the little prince around in while I break in the new Asics. SO excited! Have a wonderful Christmas ladies and I'll talk to you soon!!

37 weeks - tomorrow

Hello ladies! I am doing the 37 week update a little early because tomorrow, being Christmas Eve and all my schedule looks like this: Wake up, have half an English muffin w/PB, hit the gym for a good sweat sesh and some strength training, come home, cook some scrambled egg whites and toast with a cup of joe (decaf), paint my nails, shower and get myself perrrtty, pack enough clothes for 2 days/nights, load the car with the bags and Miss Daisy Mae, then head to my mom and dad's until we leave Christmas evening. WHEW! Busy, right? Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway I'm having. It's sure to rock your socks off. Click HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE to get directed to the link you need.

Okay, lets do a little 37 week update!

How far along? 37 weeks - FULL TERM PEOPLE!

Baby's size? He's a little over 19 inches. I had my OB appointment today and her best guess was that he will be 7lbs and 7 ounces once he is born. She also said she thinks I'll only have to push for 20 minutes due to my glorious Shakira hips. Let's hope she is right, 20 minutes just pushing, I could do

Weight Gain? I'm getting sick of this question as I'm sure you all are too. I didn't ask this appointment, but will ask at my very last appointment (January 13th)

Stretch marks? Still keeping them away with some EVOO and hydration

Belly button in or out? Depends how he is laying, which according to my doctor is still in the correct vertical position, woo hoo!

Sleep? I'm a super light sleeper these days and it's hard to find a position that I can stay in for more than an hour or two

Foods I am loving? Ice water with lemon, sweets, pizza

Foods I am hating? No such thing and no food is safe from moi

Best moment this week? Getting to spank Troy Maximus's little booty, haha. When my OB was feeling around my stomach to try to guess his weight, she would separate each body part so I could feel and his butt was sticking straight up in the air, and I gave it a little tap hehe. Babies butts are so cute

Movement? Lots of wiggles and shifting going on in there

Symptoms? Lower back has been KILLING me this past week. My Braxton Hicks are becoming painful too. Today I had a few really painful ones. My OB says this is just a glimpse of what's to come. This is fine - but hook me up to the epidural first please :)

Gender? My little man

What I miss? Running, feeling hot, working out hard, wearing my sexy jeans and heels, XBike class

What I will miss? Having him all to myself. I like knowing that he's all mine while he's in my belly

What I'm looking forward to? Christmas and his birth after that! I can't believe the time has finally come, but he can come at any.second!

Weekly Wisdom: Don't forget to drink water. Drink A LOT of water. If too much time passes and those Braxton Hicks come on, they can be way strong.

Milestone: Full term! Troy Maximus is fully developed and is safe to come out. My OB said that he is VERY low down in my pelvic area. This little man is ready to go, now it's just up to my cervix to start dilating

Emotions: Still emotional about everything. Crying over the Christmas jewelry commercials still
