Such a fat day

Do you ever have one of those days that you just wake up and feel like a blimp? That would be me today. So what did I do? I ran, not jogged, RAN, 3.5 miles! Yesterday was a leg day, so my legs felt like led this morning, but I ran! I was sweatin-straight up on fire! Those 3.5 miles felt like 3.5 million! That's what I get for not working out 3 day weekend. My body has gotten so used to working out 5-6 days a week, that any less than that and it starts to get a little too comfy (at least that's what I see when I look in the mirror).

Oh and I have to bring something up- as you all know, I have a tad bit of a girl crush on Jillian Michaels, and she is being blasted right now for her weight loss pills. Now, I am on the fence with this and I haven't had the chance yet to pick up the phone and call Jilly-bean to ask what the deal is, BUT I am kinda baffled that she even has these pills out. She has preached how there aren't any easy fixes and she sure as heck doesn't believe in pills, so it's sorta like a "huh?!" moment for me. Allegedly, these pills are giving people heart issues and such, but I have to say...WELL NO DUH! Did these people think they could just sit on their butts with their bucket o popcorn and just take a pill and POW- your the next girl to appear on Sports Illustrated and your dating Andy Roddick? The bottle WARNS you of the crazy side effects. Not only that, BUT don't every other weight loss pill out there, say rapid heart rate, nausea, dizziness can occur? That's what I thought- don't put MY girl on blast when YOU knew the side effects and it's not rocket science that weight loss quick fixes, aren't the answer and are a waste of money. Why JM would even put pills on the market, I have no clue, but we'll save that conversation for another day.

Do you guys have a song that pushes you thru that last couple of miles or couple of minutes? Let's hear it! I wanna know, THE song that kicks you in the arse when you need it, to keep yourself going. Do you picture something in your head, such as Jillian Michaels yelling in your face? My song today? Lifesong by Casting Crowns- nothing like a little spiritual inspiration to keep you running for the love of the big JC.

WHEWY!

It's the humpity hump day of the week! Can I get an Amen?! It's crazy, on Tuesday I feel like "ugh, it's only Tuesday?!", but then when Wednesday hits, it's like "What? We're halfway done?!" Not that I'm complaining :)

I'm currenlty watching last night's Biggest Loser featuring my adorable BFF's Jilly bean and Roberto and it has been a moving episode and I'm not even halfway in! Who watched it? When Allison Jones came out and talked to them, I about lost it. Here is a little snipit from the US Paralympics site about her:

"Jones was born without a right femur. When her family moved from Texas to Colorado, she began skiing at age 5. She was racing by the time she was 8 years old, working up through Winter Park's renowned disabled program and reaching the U.S. Team by the 2001 season.

Nicknamed "Jonezy," she graduated from Denver University in 2007 with a degree in mechanical engineering. She was the recipient of the Pioneer Award, which is the highest achievement an undergraduate can receive.

Major Achievements

•2008: First place, slalom - The Hartford Ski Spectacular, Breckenridge, Colorado
•2008: Silver medal, Individual Time Trial LC 3/ LC 4 / CP 3 - Paralympic Games, Beijing, China
•2008: Gold medal, Road Time Trial, - U.S. Paralympics Cycling National Championships, Morrison, Colo.
•2008: Bronze medal, 500m - U.S. Paralympics Cycling National Championships, Colorado Springs, Colo.
•2008: Gold medal in slalom, giant slalom, Super G, downhill, and overall - U.S. Disabled Alpine Championship, Solider Mountain, Idaho "

I mean seriously- look at all those medals she has won! She said when she was little, her mom put her in every sport there was. I totally agree with what her mom did- you can't look at it as a disability, just means you have to work harder. Maybe youtube her on BL last night cause I can't even come close to make it as moving as when she told it. Maybe it was that "que the tears" piano music they play when they tell sentimental stories?

Today, I made myself proud by finishing a 3.5 mile run on Tread (average pace of 5.9), and lifting some MAYJA weight with my gorgeous gams (that are compared to Gisele's CONSTANTLY..seriously-can get annoying ).

The run today just set the tone for my day- bad ass and productive! Have an Uh-MAZING day beautiful's! Remember- when you are working it out today, DON'T QUIT! KEEP GOING!

Welcome to February

Yes- February- the month of love(or maybe just lust?) and meeting goals!! This morning, I stayed true to the name "Monday Madness". I got up at the bright and early time of 4:40AM which is so hard to do since N doesn't have to work Monday's. Honestly, I didn't want to get up- last week was killa' at the gym and I only had 1 rest day, which was yesterday. (NOTE TO ALL YOU WORRIED READERS: I will be cutting it down to working out 5 days a week instead of 6 after VDAY). BUT you know what I told myself and it totally worked? I told myself "Your going to be so mad if you don't wake up-you never regret going, only NOT going". I tell you- something about that little pep talked totally worked.
So I accomplished my 2.5 mile run, my push strength training workout and tonight I am going to X Bike. It's a total love hate with Monday Madness because it's hard (and I don't LOVE hard work) but I love it because #1, I kick start my week in a huge way with workouts, #2, I enjoy that high I get from kicking my butt at the gym.I walk out of there with my head held high (covered in sweaty hair mind you), and know that I just accomplished something that 1.5 years ago, I would have made every excuse not to.

Have a GREAT Monday lovelies. Reach for your goals and make them a reality. Need some motivation? Download a couple of Jillian Michaels podcast. Their free and I promise she'll make you want to make today count! Click here to go to the page for her podcasts
