Happy Friday/Weekend's Eve ladies!

I hope y'all had a great 4th of July. Pretty low key for our household - we putzzed around our house and I took a cat nap until about 1ish and then we headed down the road to my parents house for some pool fun. Absolutely no pictures - I know, major fail. To suffice, how about a little bit of this guy on his quad

First off, lets start with Stella & Dot - ya know, that amazing company The Bargain Blonde, Lindsay reps....its my FAVORITE accessory line EVER. This week I took the plunge and am now a legit Stylist for THE Stella & Dot and couldn't be happier with my decision *a blog dedicated to this choice coming soon!* I cannot pick a favorite piece, and was first introduced to it on the The Bachelor whenever that freakishly perfect Emily Maynard wore it when she was dating Brad.

She just can't stay away from this stuff. Giving credit, where credit is due - Lindsay was an added factor in me deciding to take the jump with this great company. So, Im taking a page out of her book, and if any of you ladies are looking for funky fun jewelry or jewelry that will never go out of style, check out your favorite stylist site, MOI! Im telling you, that wish list is going to grow fast!

I cannot tell y'all how many times I've hit rewind to watch Andy's face in slo mo again and again. I have a feeling, I am going to have to empty my bladder completely before I see the whole thing when it airs, because I cannot stop laughing. Seriously, am I the only one? Please tell me this is cracking you up as much as me. His true fufu comes out with the reaction.

My dad is another favorite this week! So my dad who NEVER shops unless it's dude stuff or it's Christmas time, decided he wasn't going to use this little sweet thang and gifted his daughter with it. I just don't understand how people can NOT use a Target gift card? I tried (ONCE!) to decline, but he insisted, and girlfraaaands, you aint gotta tell me more than once when it comes to spending free cash at Tar-jay. This may or may not be spent today.

Girls, seriously? This picture cracks me up! I actually sent it in to the Ellen Degeneres show due to a couple friends suggestions. Tell me that Easter Bunny does not look like she is doing the craziest evil laugh you've ever heard over my little man's wails! My mom thinks its sad cause Troy is having 1 heck of a meltdown, but as HIS mom, I can say - this is just too awesomely funny. Happy Friday and I hope you all have a Happy Easter!

361 days in our lives

Oh my word, the 1 year mark is 4 days away. Im someone who thinks about the past a lot. Not like dwells on things, but I think its fun to remember huge things that happened to me. Such as when the Mr. and I started emailing when he was stationed in Japan and all the sweet things he'd say, you know, the "courting phase". The phase you should suck everything in, cause once they put a ring on it, say bye bye to those love notes. HA! Totally kidding, girls. My man still woo's me (by saying things like "Your so sexy. Know what would be even sexier? If you got me a beer!" - semi true story).

I think about where I was 1 year ago today. 4 ways away from my life changing forever. I remember being soooo over the waiting game. Every morning Nick would head to work, I'd grab a large beverage, get my comfy blankets, grab the laptop and watch all my favorite shows on the couch. Just waiting for my future Gladiator, Troy Maximus to make his debut. I think back and would love to tell that Karli to enjoy every uninterrupted moment of Real Housewives while you can, cause soon the TV will be taken over with Baby Einstein, Yo Gabba Gabba and Veggie Tales.

T Money's birfday party is tomorrow, and even tho it's super small, I am stressed about getting everything done. I think this just goes with the territory of throwing a party. Truth be told, I don't love being the hostess with the mostest. I have to really deep clean. Like get on my hands and knees and clean every baseboard, every piece of furniture, wash every removable rug, scrub every single thing. Heck, I might even give Daisy Mae a bath because I don't want people to think I my stinky dog is the norm up in this joint.

I decided to go with the sports theme for his birthday. So I got a few Sporty type banners and decorations. We shall see how I decide to throw it all together. Say a prayer for me cause I suck at icing cakes, I always seem to peel up cake when I do it, and I gotta ice Troy his little football cake to eat. Not like he's gonna care about the icing job, but still.

And while we are on the topic of sports - did you guys hear about my man Tim Tebow's injuries from last weekends game? Homeboy TORE RIB CARTILAGE AND BRUISED HIS LUNG, and had fluid build up in his chest. AND he still played the 2nd half. Hardcore, no?

Wow - Who Knew?

Who knew that planning someones 1st birthday would be so overwhelming. My criteria - I want it small, intimate, boyish,and cheap. Too much to ask? I don't think so! I've been all over Pinterest this morning getting ideas. Part of me really wants to go with a fun sports theme (hello, we ARE a total football family), but then I saw these other really cute ideas.

One of my girlfriends babies birthday is in January as well and her theme for her daughters bday was "Winter ONEderland". I believe Ashley over at Stealing Baby Kisses had the same thing for her little man. So for that sort of theme I thought I could have a hot chocolate bar with different toppings, some cute wintery goody bags for the very few kids coming and little appetizers (think meatballs in a crock pot, crescent pizza rolls, veggie tray, chips and dip sorta deal). Then I thought how fun it'd be to have cupcakes instead of cake and then I could make Troy a giant special cupcake.




With a sports party I could decorate sporty (obviously), and then do sport food - chips and dip, crescent pizza rolls, nachos, maybe hot dogs with a condiment bar and then I could do football type cupcakes and baseball sort of cupcakes.


Other idea?

I still can't believe little dude is gonna be 1 in 2 short months! On Christmas Eve he will be 11 months old and we have gotten the okay from the doc to start introducing him to cows milk. My debit card will be much happier not buying formula as much. I just bought a big can of formula at Tar-jay and I am hoping it'll be the last one we have to buy *fingers crossed*

A Parents Biggest Fear

Seriously. Last night, Troy woke up from his afternoon nap, GASPING for air. He couldn't stop crying, sounded super "froggy" and was drooling uncontrollably and he couldn't open his eyes fully. Oh and he was sweaty and very hot to the touch. So Nick and I strapped him in the carseat, and away to the ER we went. After tests, an epinephrin breathing treatment, a chest x-ray and a fever reducer, my little dude has croup. Seriously, I LOVE this time of year. Ask anyone, Fall and Winter? MY seasons. Christmas? Fuh-get about it. Absolutely love Christmas. In fact, I will be decorating this week, but thats a different post for a different day. But the sickness that the cold weather brings, I hate! I never really minded getting sick until having a baby or being pregnant. I mean, I don't like getting sick, but I wasn't canceling dinner dates just cause someones kid had the flu & I didn't want to come in contact. I do look at this as building his immune system. I always have had that train of thought, that it's beneficial to a certain degree for kids to be exposed to germs. Wanna chew on mommies running sneakers? Go for it kid! Suck on that binki that was just on the floor of Walmart? why not! * Not that my kid does this........* BUT when Troy can't breathe properly? Not cool. You sorta need to breathe to survive. I was praying to God my hardest I've ever prayed in that backseat while my other half was going Nascar on the highway. All I could think was "what am I going to do if he stops breathing?" Telling you girls - SCARY.

Troy is doing a lot better, thanks for asking. Today we followed up with his normal pediatrician and he confirmed it's croup and his lungs sound perfect. His throat is a little raw, but that's to be expected with all the nasty barking coughs. Today he's been sleeping, coughing, eating solids here and there but mostly bottles, and sleeping some more. Don't know what croup is? You can read all about it here. From what the ER doctor said, he was the 3rd kid that came in that DAY, that had croup. When I came home and hopped on Facebook to update the world what I was just living the past 3.5 hours of my life, I saw that 2 other moms Im friends posted that their kids have croup (none were around Troy the past week). So weird I tell you.

So what does a woman/mom do to relieve all this stress from a sick child? A (or maybe it was 2) Corona and lime, of course! And run.

Houston, We Have a Tooth!

So Troy is 7 days shy of his 6 month birth day (my child will be half a year old? DAAAYUM!)and he has been gnawing on his hands, his blankets, anything that he can find.

For about a month of two, I've been saying he's teething and what did I find a couple mornings ago? A tooth!

It BARELY showed and at first I thought it was a cold sore looking thing on top of his bottom gum line, but nope. It was a top of a tooth. So since then I've been sticking my finger in there to feel it. The past 2 days I've been able to feel it more and more, so I'm hoping it doesn't cause him too much more discomfort (or me lack of sleep & patience), and pops through already & leaves him alone. But then again, there are 31 more "pop ups" he will have to experience in his lifetime, so this will be a work in progress.

He's either gnawing cause he's teething or he has a wicked case of rabbies

So last weeks workout updates

So let me 'splain... As you've read, T Money had shots on Wednesday, which left him a cranky/sick boy the rest of the week. I was way too exhausted to get to the gym after waking up every 2 hours every night, so I met with my p/t, Miss Jill, and called it good. I did level 2 each time which is where I feel comfortable enough to do the moves effectively and with proper form and still be challenged.

This week the workout plane is the same as last (sans Shred). On Thursday, I am actually hitting the gym with my BFF Jenni

We are going to be doing some Zumba and shakin what our mommas gave us. Haven't tried the craze known as Zumba? Try it!

So that will be my cardio for Thursday. Besides Monday, it's supposed to be gorgeous out (FINALLY! All we've had is rain), so I'm planning on an outdoor run for Tuesday. And guess what?! I am going to be signing up for a 8 mile run for the end of August, EEEK! I'm pretty nervous. That's the longest distance I've done in an event. The furthest I've ran in an event thus far is 6.2 miles! So I will be needing to train for this little 8 miler ASAP!
Thank you girls so much for the support with Troy. He is doing MUCH better and the doc said he is absolutely 110% a-ok. Just a more extreme reaction to the shots than last time.
