HOLLA

Whats up dolls? I hope you had a great Mothers Day whether your a mama or mama to be or just wanted an excuse to eat yummy foods and drink delicious drinks. I, did both. Dinners at my parents house never disappoints.

So I am pretty much going like a hamster on a wheel these next couple of days, Mexico is in 3 days! Today I had to make the runs to get all kinds of medicine in case Troy gets sick in Mexico, and I had to get enough formula and diapers to last us in Mexico and I had to get enough grub to last us till we leave. For the next 3 days, I plan on hitting my old trail (4.5ish miles), for a run/walk with T Money, I'm getting my heeer done by my magician on Wednesday (these roots are baaaaad), and tomorrow my sister and I are takin the kids to get their pics taken. Lets just say COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE. Srrrrsly you guys, its all I was running on today. Thank God it was there, cause the little dude was throwing me through the ringer today. Think major poop blowout in Target, and MAYJA' meltdown in the checkout. It was my 1st ever REAL meltdown. Nick and I call the meltdown cry "the yodel" cause that's what happens when the child gets enough volume. I had people giving me the "God, sucks to be her" look. I gave them the "Wanna take this outside?" look right back. What can I say, I get defensive when I get judgy looks, but I swear I'm sweet as pie normally. Oh, and he didn't want to take naps and I spilled formula all over myself while we were out. Bah! Ready for Tuesday please.

Happy 1st day of 2011 everyone! Nick and I had a low key BBQ with some Mac n Cheese, I watched a fabulous selection of reality TV shows while he played his games on the computer, and we called it a night at the late time of 10:00pm. I'm chalking it up to pregnancy cause I was starting to get nausea's after awhile. Then my man has been pulling 12+ hours at work everyday this week, so we really wanted to just crash in bed. Sometimes those are the best anyways. I love laying in bed before we fall asleep and talking and laughing before we both are passed out mid sentences.
It's a cold and wet morning here in Sac Town, so we're staying in with our sweats, I plan on watching Sex and the City 2 (still haven't seen it!), and just kick back with our Starbucks

Have a fabulous Monday night - I am soaking every minute up of this time since I have to go back to work tomorrow, boo! The good news? I only go back for 2.5 days before I'm on Maternity leave, BOO YA!! Holiday cards

It's already November 7th! I know, I sound like I'm trying to hurry this year up (can you blame me?), but it's true. This year is almost over and we are already into the 7th day of November! Talk of Thanksgiving plans are already going on between my mom, sister and I. Last year we had everyone over at my mom and dad's house and that was just fine with me. My aunt is going to be in town, so it'd be great to see her and everyone be in just one cozy location. I suggested to my mom we do a Thanksgiving where everyone brings a dish. I insisted I make the mashed potatoes, my sister has insisted she makes a healthy green bean casserole she found, so I think it'd be a brilliant way to celebrate without putting the stress of cooking on one person. After Thanksgiving, there is Christmas, EEK! My FAVORITE (but you all already knew that). I would go as far in saying that I like Christmas more than Ms. Britney Spears likes her daily Starbucks runs. Yup, I'm THAT confident.



This got me to thinking about Christmas cards. A MUST in the California Dreamin household and I need to get on them ASAP. We did them last year and my other half wrote a letter to everyone informing them what has happened with us in the past year, and exciting things to come the following year. We even made it a shnazzy thing to do, and went to our local Picture People to get our holiday pics taken. So THAT got me thinking about if/when I'm going to do maternity pics. To be honest, I don't want to spend the money. Rather, I hate the thought of spending $150-$250 on pics that DO look beautiful, I am just cheap. So I've enlisted my sister to take some pics of me, hopefully next weekend, on some pretty country property near my parents house. I saw one of my girlfriends (who just had her beautiful daughter last week!) pics and I love the country theme behind it. While I was day dreaming about my Maternity "make me look like Heidi Klum" pics, I got to thinking how Nick and I need to take a couple shots for our Christmas cards. I'm fine with something simple, Fall themed and straight to the point. I picture us in front of a tree with all it's pretty fall colors and calling it good.

Well hello uterus

When I woke up this morning I could feel exactly where my uterus is which in turn means, I knew where my baby bean was :) !! A really great way to wake up. I had Nick feel it and he couldn't really feel 'it', but to me, I could feel he was feeling it, does that make sense? haha.

I hope your weekends are going fabulous so far! I've had a very lovely one, and I'm hoping tonight Nick and I head on over to Home Depot, cause it's the one thing I really wanna do this weekend. *note: that sounded so wifely of me..who knows any 23 year olds that are dying to get to Home Depot on their weekend?* Oh and PS, I noticed we have a pack of hummingbirds that like to come on our porch! It made me so excited, so I'm adding a humming bird feeder to the "to get" list.

Speaking of beautifying things, it is after Labor Day which means summer is coming to an end, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! I do love summer, but I love Fall and Winter even more. I LOVE wearing cozy sweaters and jeans and boots and having that hot mocha or hot apple cider. Plus Christmas is my favorite holiday. I just love the decorations and putting up the Christmas tree. Just the whole ritual of everything makes me happy and more jolly. The hard work of trying to burn off what I am taking in, not so much. In the spirit of it starting to cool off and transition into Fall at the end of this month, I have decided to go back brunette with my hair. Last winter and I did brown and at first it freaked me out cause I've never been anything, but Playboy bunny blonde. However N loved it (it was like another woman w/out the cheating, ha ha) and it grew on me. I always felt that I needed another color in my hair though. So this past weekend when I was with Bestie since 4 years old, she helped me with that dilema. I have decided to go black on the underneath part of my hair and dark chocolate brown on the top. Right now its blonde ontop and brown underneath and I LOVE the 2 tone look + it solves my dilema with needing more than 1 color in my hair. Oh and also, my hair will get a break from the blonde fried-ness. I totally fried my hair a few months ago when I tried to bleach my roots TWICE IN 2 DAYS and it fried off some hair. I don't have a bald spot or anything, its just too short of a layer now on top. Since I WAS unemployed(cause I am NOT anymore haha!!), I just throw it up in a jaw clippy thing after the shower and let it air dry and I don't dry it out with a hair dryer and straightner. My friend who is a hair dresser and who is actually going to do my hair for me this fall, recommended this product to me called K Pak and its by Joico. Its like a deep conditioner that she recommends I use 2x a week. It has protein and will love my hair long time.

Do you guys have a special hair regimen that you like? I need something to help nurish my hair and help it grow! I am already taking prenatals, and its helped a tad.

This means I get to take a trip to my favorite beauty store, Ulta!! I need to get more shampoo anyways and they have crest whitening strips cheaper there than Target. Gotta have that peertty smile for my new job :)
