Crib Time

There comes a time in every young mans life where you have to get out of the swing and into the crib. Which means, mama is prepared for a few tantrums pretty much this whole week. So basically the story is this - Troy is getting longer, which means his legs reach the end of the swing, so we want to get him used to sleeping in his crib before that happens. Not only is he growing out of it, but we will be going to Mexico with no swing, and just his (AMAZING) pack n play. The Pack N Play is the Rolls Royce of Pack N Plays in my opinion - it vibrates, makes music, has a mobile above it, has a little nigh light, basically anything a 2.5 month old would want, right? We've tried him in the PNP a few times, but he only seems to doze for about 30 minutes at the most. Maybe this is because we've only tried it at Grandma and Pa-g's house and their house is so cool, he doesn't want to sleep? Either way, he's gotta learn to sleep in different places other than his swing.
So my plan is to slowly start him in his crib. I'm going to have him sleep in there for his 1st nap of the day which is always a given that he will take. So, knowing I wont have to fight him on taking the actual nap, just the location, is much easier. I will then start to add all his naps for the crib and then someday, he'll be sleeping in there come nighttime too. Honestly, I'm just scared crapless about putting him in there all night. I have really enjoyed my sleep in the nighttime that he has given me. He's a champ at sleeping *knock on wood* at night, and I don't wanna screw that up. But..he may be fine and I'm freaking out over the "what ifs". He is in his crib as I type and I'm pretty confident he's dozing away. I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out in that GORGEOUS crib? Not only is is pretty sweet, but he has tons of cool things to look at. You know, the things I HAD to have at my shower

Of course they don't show the tantrum this little angel was probably throwing before he would nap perfectly

So ladies, I'll be doing Operation SLEEP IN YOUR DAMN CRIB all week...pray for me. Also happening this week? Nickmeister is going to start running with me!! He got a new schedule at work, so he'll be here for longer in the mornings. So we are running around the block with the ol' jogging stroller. I'm excited. Nick? Not so much. He hasn't run since the Marines and he's always hated to run. Which is why whenever I ran on the trails, he'd ride his bike next to me (also so he could attack any perv's hiding in bushes). He gets that running is a good form of cardio and since he's got the weight lifting down to a T (seriously ladies, the boy has got muscles), its time for me to get Drill Instructor on his ass and show him how we hit the pavement :) Not really, I'll be nice...for the first few times.

Oh man, I feel your pain! We are going to have to figure out a way to get Charlotte to sleep in her crib over the next two weeks because she starts daycare on April 25, and she'll have to sleep in a crib there! She will sleep in her crib for maybe 30-45 minutes, but that's it before she starts crying. So I will be thinking of you as I start my own crib training this week!

Good luck! I tried two nights in a row this past week, and we were unsuccessful. My great sleeper who sleeps through the night was up at midnight, then again at 2am, and by 2am, he was crying because he was on his side, and his pacifier fell out. I went in to put his pacifier back in his mouth, and a few minutes later it happened again. Both nights.

I am going to try him napping in there this week.
